Selling a pair of FitEar Parterres. In good condition, although I used them daily for the last few years. Absolutely gorgeous mid-centric sound, the best I've ever heard from in ears, but sadly I don't have much time to just and listen anymore and value convenience a bit more. Comes with the...

New Audio Technica Limited Edition Woodies: ATH-ESW9LTD!!

Few meaning two weeks ago. It was sold on Head-Fi -- probably just someone who just didn't think it was right.   It's a pretty great headphone -- I'm likely going to keep it. I've been pretty out of the headphone game though, so I don't have any great comparisons. It does have that great AT...

New Audio Technica Limited Edition Woodies: ATH-ESW9LTD!!

I bought a used pair a few weeks ago. Didn't like them at all the first couple of hours listening, felt really congested. However, I gave it time and either it opened up, or more likely, I got used to it after only using IEMs for a while. Amazing with female vocals, the best I've ever heard there.

Oh my. Those are gorgeous, much better than the stock photo. Tempted to buy them -- is PriceJapan the best option for those of us in the US?

    Aurisonics ROCKETS: Impressions Thread

If anyone's looking for a pair, I'm selling mine. Just too difficult for me to get a fit on these guys. Too bad, cause they really do sound good.

    Aurisonics ROCKETS: Impressions Thread

Honestly, the HD600 is what comes to mind for me. Mid-centric, slightly anemic bass and soft treble. If I remember right though, you used to own them so maybe you have different thoughts about them than I do?   I just ordered some MEElec ear guides, so hopefully they'll help me with the fit of...

    Aurisonics ROCKETS: Impressions Thread

Not surprised that you like these guys, coming from an ex-F111 owner myself. I still like the F111s more, but I couldn't justify owning them at their cost when something like the GR8s were almost as good but half the price. I'll disagree on the fit of the Rockets v. the F111 though -- the...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Figured I'd ask here since it's the most likely place to get a response: does anyone not sure their ear guides for the GR07? If not, I'd love to buy them from you, PM me if you're willing to sell them!

    Aurisonics ROCKETS: Impressions Thread

I just got the Rockets and like them quite a bit. They've got great mids like everyone else mentioned, but also are a bit mid focused. The bass and treble are both a bit soft compared to my reference (Grado GR8s, which I prefer over the GR10s), but they are incredibly smooth. They have less bass...

FitEar F111 — Impressions, Reviews & Discussion (previously TO GO! 111)

Mine stick out. Quite a bit too, almost as much as the TF10s. Definitely can't sleep in them.

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)

Hmm, that sounds quite good actually. I was just worried about it because I previously have owned the TF10, which I'd assume the JH13 was just an improvement of that type of sound. I'm guessing that's wrong?

The Miracles might be exactly what I'm looking for then. I actually had them as the top choice to begin with, but then I did more research and cooled on them a bit.     Quote:   I didn't consider the JH13 because I heard it's rather V-shaped in it's response. I don't really like...

Multi-Custom In-Ear Monitor Review, Resource, Mfg List & Discussion (Check first post for review links & information)

Wondering if someone could help me out with choosing a CIEM. My price range is up to $1000, with the maker being in the US or at least not having to ship outside the US (so UM would be fine in this case). Reason is if the reshelling has difficulties, I don't have to deal with tons of shipping...

FitEar F111 — Impressions, Reviews & Discussion (previously TO GO! 111)

I find this very different from my own thoughts. I A/Bed the HF5 and the F111s when I had both (sadly the HF5s broke), and I thought the F111 was leaps and bounds above the HF5. Blacker background, more treble extension, tighter bass, and the biggest difference was a much greater soundstage...

Does anyone have experience with the Kef LS50?

Quote:   Good to know. They have enough power? That would be a great and simple set-up for me.

Does anyone have experience with the Kef LS50?

Resurrecting this thread a bit, but I just got a old Peachtree iNova off of Audiogon as a DAC/headphone amp/speak amp combo. Was considering getting the KEF LS50 for near field use -- would the Peachtree be powerful enough? It seems like some tests online have a similar set-up and the OP seems...

FitEar F111 — Impressions, Reviews & Discussion (previously TO GO! 111)

Quote:   Agreed on the noise floor. The F111s are probably the most sensitive IEM I've ever used and hiss ever so slightly out of even the most silent sources (Pico Slim for one). I don't think I've heard anything it's dead silent on.

DAC and integrated speaker amp (+ phono pre)?

Seems like the Wadia 151 might be an option too. It's apparently been used to drive the Mini Maggies, so the power is definitely there. Not sure how its DAC is though.   EDIT: Maybe not the Wadia actually. It doesn't seem to have analog inputs (so apparently the DAC can't be bypassed), and I...

DAC and integrated speaker amp (+ phono pre)?

I'm looking for an all-in-one solution just to manage my workspace a little better. Right now, I have more boxes on my desk than I really want: a Musical Fidelity triple stack (V-DAC, V-PSU, V-LPS) for speaker use and connecting to a Rega turntable, a Emotiva mini-X a-100 for passive speakers...

FitEar F111 — Impressions, Reviews & Discussion (previously TO GO! 111)

Quote:   I think the HF5 is actually a better comparison than the ER4. The F111 sounds exactly like a more refined HF5 -- tighter bass, much larger soundstage, better clarity, and more detail. I loved the HF5, but when I went from listening to the HF5 to the F111, the difference was huge...

    The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP

Quote:   The artwork is actually tagged; I manually tag everything, so they are in the files. I think it's just that the AK100 is really picky on the file type and size of the artwork. I read about it earlier in the thread, not sure if iRiver plans on updating the firmware to make that...

    The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP

Quote:   I also don't really have an HD tracks, so that's a feature of the RWAK100 that I wouldn't use. I don't have the best ears and I think that 320kbps mp3 and FLAC sound the same. I know that some people can hear the difference, but I personally cannot, so take what I say with a...

    The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP

I currently have a RWAK100 on loan from a Head-Fi user to test out and I've been A/Bing with my iMod/Pico Slim combo. It's very very close, but I think the RWAK100 is slightly better. The headstage is very similar, but I think the RWAK100 edges the iMod on instrument separation and bass quantity...
