Nothing in the $500 range is better than hd650, there is some headphones including the HE4 that have different presentation but they are only equal if not worst in term of technicallity, so if you like the HD650 sound so much I suggest you better upgrade something else in your system, like...- Questa

Cheapest powerful desktop amp ever?
For HD650, Try the tripath headphone amps, price rangging for 35-60dolars at ebay, if you know a little electronics you can upgrade some critical passive components latter. TA2024 gives sweet sound that I think everyone will like it, for the price.- Questa

strange I also heard the universal jh13 at jaben.. the bass not lacking at all, infact just a bit too much to my ear , the custom one add more bass if you worry about jh13 bass- Questa

iQube better than ALO Rx?
alo rx is way more powerful than iQube.. but I think its better than alo rx in sound quality, the iQube is more neutral, better imaging, deeper bass. But I do think iQube can't drive K701 better than alo rx, the iQube just not up to the task in term of power. if you are ok with desktop...- Questa

to my ear the s:flo2 has better clarity, imaging, and soundstage ( width and depth ) than any ipod I've heard, but I like ipod better in bass area. And I'm no bass head.- Questa

To me er4p never have roll of bass, it just thin, I tried T51 with alot other stuffs, I mentioned er4p because I dont want you guys think I'm a bass monster fans. well If you ask me I did try it with JH13pro but universal version of it. well, I'm not the only one confirm the cut off...- Questa
