Best quality headphones for 40-80$
Quote: No offense to you man, but i;m just saying... skullcandy aviators does sound good, but they ask too much of the price.. The Philips Citiscape Uptowns beat their sound quality, and they are 1/3 of ite's price.- The Heavy

Headphones for rock/gaming under 150-ish
Quote: Oh, ok.. Since your looking at decent headphones with a soundstage, and with a decent budget. Check out the Philips Citiscape Uptowns, the Pioneer STEEZ 808, the Sony MDR-1r's and if your lucky to find it, the Senheisser Momentums. At first i thought you want gaming ones.- The Heavy

Best IEM around $100?
Try checking out the Klipsch s4 or the s5, and check the Philips fidelio s1 and s2. Both of them have excellent sound quality, but the s4's have more bass.- The Heavy

Klipsch s4 or s5
In my opinion, the klipsch s4 has more bass than the s5, and the s5 has more clarity and a slightly improved soundstage than the s4 - only slightly.. So my choice is the klipsch s4.- The Heavy

Headphones under $300? (Looking at the Sony MDR-1R)
I agree with your decision. The Sony MDR-1R is a very well balanced headphone, it's best to check them out. But since your wearing glasses, be sure to test it out extensively, just to be sure... If your willing to increase your budget up to $400, you can buy the momentums, which are possibly the...- The Heavy

Will my iMac correctly drive my Phillips Citiscape Utpowns to the extent I can hear FLAC/ALAC (apple's lossless) vs MP3.
It's best to rip them from CD's and then convert them, cause converting Mp3 to lossless aint gonna do much difference.- The Heavy

Best quality headphones for 40-80$
Just one thing to say first, don't buy the philips shl9650... since your budget is at the 40-80 dollar price range, go for these: Philips O'neill The Stretch + Very Colorful + Durable + Good Sound Quality (but not great compared to Hi-End) + Well Built + Has Mic and other...- The Heavy
