Hi Everyone, Been out from the Head-Fi scene a couple of years. Keep using my good old Encore. Now I want to upgrade, What's your recommendation of a good upgrade from the Encore? Prefer the same sound signature. Thanks Kith

  My feeling is, if you don't use the screen too much, that save a lot of battery.

  I'm using the stock player. Wifi and Bluetooth are off. Sound Enhancement disabled.   I also disabled all apps which have nothing to do with playing music.

Last night I let the ZX1 play music non stop, tonight when I back home it's still playing music. More than 24 hours it still have 20% of battery left.   Amazing.

I turn off everything and disable any apps which I don't need.   charge it to 100%, let it sit idle overnight, it only drain 6% after around 12 hours.

  I almost always in Shuffle mode and repeat. No problem at all.

Btw, I use tg334 and dt1350.

The UI in AK120 still a bit smoother than Dx90. But sound wise, the dx90 win. Not by a large margin, but still sound better to my ear. Before I receive my dx90, I love the sound from the AK, but now the AK sound a bit boring. Of course you have to accept smaller storage and shorter battery...

I have ak120 for six months, been listening to the dx90 for a week. I like the dx90 more. To me, clarity, dynamics, sound stage are better on dx90, it also more musical. I'm selling my ak.

no EQ once you disabled the Sound Enhancement.

    Are you sure? Both setting are for "Built in Speaker" only.   Bother to take a look at the manual? It even have the description in the setting.

When a manufacturer provide you a burn-in cable, that's say something.   Personally I hear changes in gear after burn-in, not night and day, but noticeable.
