FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Hi, Primarily use my FiiO E17 to drive the HiFiMan EF2A at work (via the L7 Line out add on) where I use a set of Beyerdynamic DT1350's. Question is... Has anyone used the FiiO E17 as a "serious" external DAC device? Reason why I ask, is that I was thinking of connecting...- Sysagent

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
I have both the FiiO E17, FiiO E7 and a HiFiMan EF2A. I currently use the FiiO E17 to drive the amplifier stage of the HiFiMan EF2A (I used to use the E7), I can do a comparison of the E17 and the EF2A once I am happy that the FiiO E17 has had sufficient enough time to burn in like the...- Sysagent

Oh... That's a bit of a bad do as we say up here on the North Of England! My laptop doesn't have any SPDIF outputs at all. Russ- Sysagent

Review of the Audio-GD FUN - A modular Dac / Headphone amp / Preamp
Hi there "Fun" People! Just wondering if anyone has hooked up the Fun to a pair of Beyer Dynamic DT-1350's and if so what's the verdict please? I am thinking of upgrading from my HiFiMan EF2A & FiiO E7 combo to one of these units but I would like some opinions first if possible...- Sysagent

Chameleon DAC listening and modifications
It's not an "advantage" per se... More thinking along the lines of what's the point of having files at 24 bit resolution like SACD rips, DVD-A rips, HDTracks downloads, etc and then streaming them into a device that then reduces this resolution down to 16 bits? It defies the whole...- Sysagent

Chameleon DAC listening and modifications
Many thanks for the reply appreciated. So if I am reading correctly a "true" 24 bit DAC then is not currently available, or is available at significant cost? Why I asking is I am also looking at other DACS like the Audio-DG and other units at the same price range and ideally would...- Sysagent

Chameleon DAC listening and modifications
I am looking to purchase the Chameleon, can I ask a quick question please? If the Chameleon is based on the 16 bit Philips TDA1543 chip how is it managing to handle 24 bit files from either the SPDIF / USB inputs? Is it truncating the 24 bit files down to 16 bit resolution, therefore...- Sysagent

FiiO E7 + Hifiman EF2a = Which closed full size headphone? (EF2A Users Help needed!)
Quote: Hi there, The FiiO DAC is of a higher quality yes and sounds a lot better than the internal DAC the EF2a has. Saying that I am looking to update the FiiO sooner than later to possibly a v-DAC II or TeraDak Chameleon... Sys- Sysagent

Does Such A Thing Exist?
Well does it:- USB input with 24bit 96khz capability, a valve headphone amplifier output (if possible with the ability to swap and change them), all in one device and with a good performance. Oh and be a reasonable cost i.e. less than £500... Doesn't need SPDIF, TOS, Phono...- Sysagent

New Beyer DT1350
Hi Magnus I think I can do a pretty good job for you comparing these headphones as I upgraded the HifiMan Re0's to the DT1350's the other week... The listening equipment was my Apple Mac using Fidelia Audio player connected to a FiiO E7 external USB DAC, Fidelia had exclusive access to the...- Sysagent

New Beyer DT1350
Well they are here! Currently listening to Massive Attack's Mezzanine album, they aren't "bass light" they are more like bass controlled if you know what I mean... As for sound quality well they certainly blow my Hifiman RE0's out of the water for balance, there is slightly more...- Sysagent
