    JVC HA-SZ2000/1000 Impressions Thread

So my pair took a spill :{ Anyone know if there's anyway I can get them replaced or repaired? The warranty card says it's only valid in Japan and I'm in the States.

Funny you guys are talking about the pads, I was fiddling around with mine today because I was getting annoyed with them and had a moment of genius.   I was about to take one off when I realized there is a ton of room between the underside of the pad and the grill. Just to try it out real...

That makes sense, but I'm running onboard audio on both my machines. An ALC892 and an ALC898. According to the datasheet, under output impedance, it lists 2 ohms for amplified output and 200 ohms for non-amplified output. Which am I getting? I'm pretty set on getting an amp and it looks like...

@Hawaiibadboy Why you taking everything I'm saying as an argument man? :{ I'm not saying you're wrong, I was just saying what I was getting on my end straight out of my motherboard so you guys know where I'm coming from and could help me better. I even said I'm going to get an amp and was asking...

I definitely need to :s They're super soft, just too shallow. The grills are sitting right on my ears and it's not very comfortable.     I went with the 700s because they had a bit less bass impact, but more sub-bass which is what I wanted. I think the 500s just got so much love because...

At least straight out of my motherboard, the XB700s have quite a bit more impact :p I was hoping I could get away with not getting an amp because my setup isn't very amp friendly (two machines running through a KVM). Looks like I'll bite the bullet though and grab the e17.   I sent him a...

I was comparing them to my XB700s not the 77s. I don't own a pair of those :s The XB700s had much brighter highs and mids, less sub-bass, but more punch. It's really just the bass impact that I'm missing.   The only reason I asked about the velour pads is because I can easily buy a set of...

Mine showed up yesterday. So far I've experienced mixed results. One thing I can say for certain is that these things are sub-bass gods. I'm often finding that they're lacking punch though. Some tracks I get some oomph, but others not so much.   I definitely need to get some new pads ASAP...

You have me totally confused. First you rec them to me and then tell me to stay away? o.O

$200-300 budget, basshead, looking to upgrade from a pair of XB700s

@Hawaiibadboy I read your review, I think you've sold 'em to me :p Only thing that has me worried is the pads. Can you give me a measurement on how deep they are so I can compare them to my XB700s? Also, can you recommend any replacement pads? What's the process of tossing new ones on it like...

$200-300 budget, basshead, looking to upgrade from a pair of XB700s

Do you know of anywhere a bit more official? I'm usually pretty weary of random sellers on Amazon/Ebay. The last time I ordered something being imported from a random seller they forgot to process the order and it took a month or so to show up.

Can you recommend anywhere to buy them? They seem a bit hard to track down.

    The Basshead Club

I was looking at the DT770 Pros (80Ω), but a pair of them and a DAC/amp to drive them looks like it's going to run around $400 which is outside of my budget ($200-300). I could get the 250Ω version for $125, but from what I've read the 80Ω version is the one for bassheads. In the end, it...

The reason I need over-ear is because I wear them all day while I work. I don't know if it's just my ears or what, but having something sit on my ears for long periods of time is just really uncomfortable for me. Thanks for the rec though.

Over-ear is a must for me :s     Yeah, I was looking at the E17, but I'm not too sure. I don't have any experience in the DAC/amp world.
