SEATTLE MEET @ FRONT PANEL EXPRESS 1/21/2012

This was a fine meet. Thanks for all your work, Gil.    Ron was impressed with the shop and may have some ideas for using FPE for some hydraulic crane operator panels...but that's another story.   Thanks to everyone that stopped into our room to say hello and check out the accessories. ...

Thnks for all the work Big Poppa, and Thanks to Front Panel Express for the space.  Heather was a huge help in taking registrations.  It was a friendly relaxed atmosphere.  Good to see some familiar faces and some new ones.

Seattle/Portland" Meet in the Middle" 27 Feb 2010 - Impressions

The Meet was enjoyable and laid-back. It's so good to check everything out. My fav is still the portable setup by KingStyles. I liked the AppleTV setup as well since I need to keep my sweetheart happy and she wants the visuals. The pizza and soda was a nice touch. We all needed to stay fed...

    Audio Grade Fuses

Fuse direction matters. The difference is usually discernable without trying to listen too hard. When inserted the wrong way, the sound will usually be a bit flatter and softer. Imaging not as good. It can still sound OK, just not "right". On fuses with directional arrows - you should...

    Pick me a power conditioner

Just a note that we have noticed the Furman PST-10 is missing from the new Furman catalog and pricing sheets. The PST-8D is still there and well respected so it sells quite well. I'm speculating here, but I think the 10D may be too expensive to make to stay in the pricing tier. People that need...

    Pick me a power conditioner

Yes, the PST-8D is a well-built unit. I think the originator of this thread mentioned wanting passive unit of some sort. I think the Furutech eTP60 or eTP80 are also very good. They are introducing additional models for 2009.

    Pick me a power conditioner

I must preface this with the fact that Revolution Power is a Furman dealer - that said, I give the opinion that the Furman M-8x is a good entry level piece with Furman "standard level" power conditioning. It is a rack-mount unit. The basics are there, but I would reccommend that if you can...

Post pics of beverages which you bought recently or drinking now: Water, Juice, Milk, Cider, Beer, Wine, Gin, Scotch, ...?

I suspect that what you are drinking at the moment you are sitting in your listening chair has a direct effect on the sound. Some recordings still suck, no matter how much Talisker I drink.

It looks like a new connector as well. I wonder who will come out with a new cable set for this 'phone first.

Seattle Meet Impressions: June 21st, 2008

Thanks for doing the legwork, Gil, The Power conditioner that was used with the Valve Code was a Furman PST-8D. The D standing for "Digital". It has separate filters for analog and digital equipment and helps keep the digital gear from feeding back to other equipment or the power line. The...
