Rechargeable batteries.
Lisa, I'm not sure, but it probably takes between one and two hours for a 9v to charge. I've spoken to people who work in the shops - I don't know who to ask in a more senior position. The owner of the shop I bought some of these rechargeables from today said that the NiMh could be fast...- Puzzle

Rechargeable batteries.
Hi guys, Interesting thread for sure. I'm in Australia, and can only get one brand of 8.4v rechargeable (170Mah). I just received my SR-71, and it wouldn't fit any 9v battery put in it, without a gap at the back plate. (BTW, Duracell make a ProCell 9v which is a little more expensive, but...- Puzzle

Beyerdynamic DT 880 (need advice!)
Will, I have a pair of Beyer 880s, and, at the moment, listen to them straight out of my powerbook or iPod. True they don't sound as full as when properly amped - but their wonderful characteristics are still very evident. The open, airy, wide soundstage is all there. Other head-fi...- Puzzle

Just got my Alessandro MS-2; 1st impression: so-so ??
Tony, No regrets so far. But I recognise a behaviour in myself that I'm sure is helped by the burn-in period. When I sit down with a new whatever, there is a certain anticipation or expectation of... I'm gonna be blown away by the quality of this or the huge improvement! Then comes the...- Puzzle

Grado Flat Pads
Luke, If you like the stock pads - stick with 'em. I've only had the Alessandros for a day, but the Senn pads seem more comfortable while retaining the bowl 'perspective', especially since I flipped them over to the 'reverse VWAP' configuration. My Beyer 880's are very comfortable, but...- Puzzle

For What It's Worth: I just had an idea, which I've now implemented. When I got my new MS-2's earlier today, I also bought some Senn 414 pads to replace the stock bowl pads most everyone has comfort issues with. I cut a hole in the Senn pads approximately the same size as the hole that...- Puzzle

Grado Flat Pads
Hey - My MS-2's arrived today! I had to go out almost immediately, but I left them playing for a quick burn-in. While I was out I bought a few pairs of Senn 414 replacement pads - couldn't believe they were only a few bucks a pair (as they should be). I also had to get a local pro-audio...- Puzzle

Jacopo, you think the comfies will be a little un-comfy because of the MS-2 weight? Hmmm, since I live just up the road from the local importer of Sennheiser, I was going to buy some replacement pads for the Senn 414's, and use them to kick-off the experiment process - but the Senn pads...- Puzzle

Jacopo, Yes, we keep searching for something better, only to find what we had was good already. Contrast is what allows us to experience. Very profound, I know. In fact, I only really wanted to say I love your avatar - it's (part of) one of my favourite Cartier-Bresson photographs...- Puzzle

Best Studio Headphones - pls. advise
I have used the MDR-7506 phones for years for documentary location sound recording - they are the industry standard here in Australia. In fact a sound recordist I used for a doco series recently - Paul Brincat - uses them, and he has recorded many big budget features shot in Australia over the...- Puzzle
