Remove the grill to see if moisture is the issue. Like I mentioned, I'm pretty sure a lot of the the driver issue people have been mentioning is actually just caused by the netting behind the grill. Based on the amount of suction and pressure upon insertion, I'm pretty sure it's a completely...- nsjong

I didn't remove the actual netting, but just some of the adhesive that sticks the grill onto the bore opening.- nsjong

Yup, this is just condensation from your body from the pressure of the seal. Note that if you have issues with moisture reducing the sound, it's actually the thin betting behind the grill, where the adhesive seal is too strong. Remove some of it and you won't have any loss of sound. I...- nsjong

Even with the venting on the BA5, I get a suction effect that prevents any slipping or any intrusive ambient noise. I could shake my head somewhat violently and the seal is still there. I pretty much only use Sony hybrids as my silicone tips as they don't retain their "round" shapes and...- nsjong

Then you have issues with the fit. Mine provides more than enough "suction" when the seals well-set, easily isolates 70-80% of ambient noise.- nsjong

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
That's Chinese tech industry for you. Every subsequent release is more like an open-beta testing for products, which isn't common in western industries. This is especially present in their telecommunications industry, which is pretty much profitless up until they release their premium models.- nsjong

I ended up getting the TRN BA5. (Also plan to pick up an ety er2xr) Is there anything else people would recommend over the 2? Just moving up from a KZ ZSN, comfort has always been a slight issue with it and heard the "wings" help with the fit.- nsjong

Recommendations for a full-sized portable. Under $120.
Thanks for the speedy reply! I didn't put any listening preferences, because I listen to almost anything. Also, I'm not going to be using an amp so I'm hoping any or all of these will be sufficient out of a regular source.- nsjong

Recommendations for a full-sized portable. Under $120.
Hey guys, I've been out of the scene for about 4 years. List anything and everything that fits this recommendation. I just want to see where to get a decent set. Foremost importance is probably construction. No crap recommendations like HD201 and stuff, please. ...- nsjong

HD228's... Did I get a fake?
Ah, it seems that I was mistaken; I just seem to prefer the forward sound. I just read up some info about the sound and seems to describe it. Fakes always show up on eBay first, so I had a hunch they weren't fake.- nsjong

HD228's... Did I get a fake?
I've recently purchased a HD228 from a local craigslister. Came in original packaging and etc, etc. I'm just curious as to the sound. They just sound really hollow for me. Maybe I've been used to IEM's for too long? Or do I need time for burn-in? Because I've NEVER heard of fake...- nsjong

BACK and READY FOR MORE! (need a little help here)
How nostalgic of me to be back here. Well, my friend wants me to get back into the scene, so here I am. The problem is, I've been away for about a good 2 - 3 years. You know, the last decent cans (they will be always portable) were: - AKG K81DJ's - Equation RP-21 - Shure E5c's -...- nsjong
