Sony HMZ-T1 Personal 3D viwer sound quality?

I have one.  The sound is fair -- not great.  I would not use them for critical listening.  The main problem is that the sound has to be down-mixed to stereo (although there is a stereo-only mode) and Sony's HRTF is not great -- only fair (I would make a point of switching to the CINEMA HRTF...

    New Luxman P1u amp

My rough translation of http://avic.livedoor.biz/archives/51239509.html: High fidelity audio firm Luxman announces the successor to the Luxman P-1 will be the Luxman P-1u! Unlike the many amplifiers which include external power supply and DACs, this model is a traditional high-quality...

DAC1 or GraceM902 still worth it?

On my M902, the cross feed is sticky -- once set, it stay set (even after power cycling) until you unset it. Hi/Lo is not sticky, but I've only needed that when directly driving a K1000.

    Denon AH-D7000

I appears that Denon is just releasing these very slowly -- it is not J&R or B&H's fault. It took months to get mine, and my friends have had similar experiences. Even when I was in Japan, I noticed all the stores I visited had these out of stock, and I was told it would take a minimum of...

    Denon AH-D7000

B&H just shipped a bunch out on 6/17. For at least some, wait time was 4 months.

    An SACD Adventure

I very much like the convenience of universal players that play CD, DVD, DVD-A, SACD, and for some forthcoming models, Blu-Ray disks. This is important given the sudden boom in releases of Blu-Ray opera, ballet, and orchestral concerts -- suggesting that these will be an important format in the...

    Coax SPDIF splitter

So you want a switcher, right? I would not use a simple Y-cable for this -- it can lead to plenty of problems. I find Zektor switches to be outstanding, for your needs, the HDS4.1 should be adequate (although you may enjoy looking at their higher-end switches): Zektor A cheaper option...

    Luxman is here

Here are some interior photos of the P-1 that I found on a Japanese BBS. My apologies for the poor quality; I didn't take these photos:

    Headphone amps w/remote control ?

One problem with Grace remote control IR codes is that many of them are the same as the default Slim Devices remote control codes. (I use a Slim Devices Transporter and an Esoteric DV-50S as my primary sources.) It is possible to address this by programming the alternative Slim Devices IR...

Grace Design,What's the difference between M902&M904

While I have not heard of anyone using the m904 for personal (non-studio) headphone listening, I would not think the idea was necessarily absurd -- for example, the m904 has many more inputs (3 rather than one balanced inputs, 2 rather than one AES digital inputs, external clock input, etc.) and...

    SACD

I think that the limitations on SACD are entirely limitations based on marketing failures. Absence of widely used digital connections Sony, by insisting on draconian copy protection features, released SACDs without providing an appropriate way to get SACD signals out. SACD signals could...
