    Where do I try out all Audioengine A5's, Swan M200, M-Audio BX5a

Having owned both Audioengine A5 and Swan D1010MKII 08, I believe both will deliver very good performance when it comes to music. They sound good with any kind of music genre. The A5 has a slightly warmer sound and rounder tone, while the Swan is slightly more analytical and has more...

    AudioEngine A5 competition

The only reason you will choose Promedia 2.1 over the A5 is because the added subwoofer.     Quote:

Best Computer Speakers for $250 -$300. Possibly 2.1

In my experience I never had a heat problem with the A5s. I normally listen to music, or play music at moderate to high volume. The build-in amp always stays warm, but never went hot.

    2.0 Speaker Recommendations

As a previous owner of Audioengine A5, I found them pretty impressive. Because I moved to a small apartment where space is a concern, I had to sell those and the speaker stands I paired with the A5. The Swan D1010MK08 is currently sitting on my desk (little brother of 1080) and I'm very...

    audioengine a2 eq settings?

Try raising them from the desk and different placements. My A5 had the same problem until I placed them on speaker stands.

    Best active/powered 2.1 for $150 - $300

Since it's dorm I assume it'll be a fairly small space. Bigger speakers won't make much difference and may sound worse in this scenario. Get decent computer speakers like Soundsticks or MX5021. Audioengine A2 is good but the bass won't go deep because of its size so go for 2.1 if you want...

Floor Stands for Audioengine A5 Speakers

I used those with my A5. Works fine. Got them from Fry's. I got the 24' one. http://www.studiotech.com/products/speaker_stands/sw_series/index.html

    AKG K701 & Sennheiser 650

I guess your equipments and amplifications will also affect how HD650 sound. To me they sound very good with every music I play. Sometimes I find myself wanting more bass from it. So definitely to me they are not bass heavy.

    Dirty power

The one I found cost 150USD. I have an external audio interface, so the interference from my laptop isn't a problem. I think it is my laptop's power supply that introduces nosies to the whole power outets. Even when all the connection's are removed, except for the power of my speaker, it still...

    Dirty power

Recently I found that there were a lot of noise coming from my PC speakers, and guitar amp. It makes high pitched, and bug like sound every second. Later I found that the noise is caused by my Toshiba laptop. The noise appears when the power is supplied by AC, and disappears when the laptop...
