Minerva MI-3 Custom IEM, Review and thoughts.

I've had clear silicone musician's earplugs and ACS T2 IEMS for several years and not experienced any discolouration issues.   I've been using the clear Minerva M1 monitors for over a year and they look the same as when they first arrived.      The review above, and the...

ER6 with ER musicians filter molds?

Bass is perhaps a touch better than with foamies; I found the sound seemed a bit clearer and positioning improved a little. The biggest improvements are in comfort and ease of cleaning/not needing to change filters very often.

    ACS T2PRO vs Sensa 2X-S?

Build quality and appearance are about the same. Sensaphonics use a slighter harder material than ACS do. In terms of sound, the difference is slight but the new ACS do have better highs than the old 'Sensaphonics' model had.

The teflon cables are comfortable and since the exit point from the molds is aligned with the correct direction for the wire I think there will be less strain and likelyhood of problems with the wires worn over the ear with the teflon option.

Finally I’m getting respectable bass from my Etymotic ER-4/S

I get good bass from both foames and tri-flanges. The tri-flanges probably give the better overall sound but tend to need deeper insertion and slip and need repositioning whereas the foamies are less hassle once they are in but need replacing more often. I don't tend to use either now because my...

Blocking out as much noise as possible (Etymotic phones)

um, what model of etymotics are you using? it sounds like you're not inserting them deep enough. with properly fitting eartips you should pretty much only be able to hear the music you're playing regardless of whether you're on the train or in your room etc.

my impressions were done with my mouth slightly open and the fit is perfect.

Nice review. Have got my repaired T2XS back from ACS now; having emailed Andy to comment on the improved sound it seems that they replaced the HF drivers during the rebuild. To my ears the highs are better than they were with the old 'sensa' driver, with a wider headstage and ever so slightly...

Future Sonics vs. Shure or other IEM's

The FS-1s have quite impressive bass extension and fair midrange and highs. The clarity of the sound doesn't begin to approach what you get from the etymotic/shure/westones/ultimate ears 'hearing aid' driver designs. If small dynamic transducers produced better fidelity sound than dual...

    e2c and er6 tips in hje50

The ER6 bi-flanges and foamies will both fit onto the hje50, although it is a tight fit. The foamies give pretty good isolation, but not as good as with the 'true' IEMs due to the hje50 design

    Sensaphonic T2XS first impressions

What an interesting discussion. I will throw in some additional info just to keep everything ticking along. My position on this is that ACS are fantastic, have answered every email I've sent them and that each of the three custom fitted items I've purchased from them have fitted/performed...
