Bumping this old thread.... it's 5 years old and wondering if there were any updated recommendations for this issue.  I'd be using it to listen mostly to voice... football games on Sundays and perhaps audio novels on other days, so audio quality isn't a priority.  I do need to be able to hear...

I only found out about the combo with the E5 AFTER I bought the RE2 alone... Still I'm very happy with the purchase. With the big price cut there are some differences in design... it's now got a nylon cord (just comparing it to the pics in the original thread), but they sound great...

I have zoom player and PowerDVD... Can you play mkv with PowerDVD? I don't have much experience configuring codecs. Where do I get the dolby headphone plug in for zoom player?

I have some mkv files with 5.1 channel sound... is there a software that would encode it in dolby headphone?

I need recommendations. It will be primarily used for watching movies with Dolby Headphones processing but all around use would be a plus. The cord should be at least 10 feet. I got this budget in mind because I'm looking to make an exchange, but wouldn't mind going higher for an exceptional pair.
