New Earbuds for drumming
I'm also a drummer, and i don't often use iem's for monitoring, just some Hearos that cut 12dB. I've heard good things about the Etymotic ER20 plugs, but haven't tried those, i think they cut 20dB. When i do use iem's for monitoring, my "go-to" has been my Klipsch X10, and found them to be...- h20buzz

Another 12 hours of burn in definitely made a noticeable difference in mine today. Much smoother, better balanced sound as the hours tick by. And i think i now understand what custom tips might do for these, as i rolled up the glider tips and shoved them in so far tonight i literally didn't...- h20buzz

Quote: Probably the quickest way for me to answer your question regarding how the DBA-02 compares in the time i have right now is to tell you to walk into a room at night, turn on a night light and look around. Then walk into the same room and turn on a lamp with a 100 watt bulb and look...- h20buzz

Yeah, i'd easily say build quality is top shelf, but i can't compare to the ER4 as i haven't heard or seen them. Very solid, quality feel. I haven't yet really tried messing with the shirt clip, probably tomorrow night. Without it i was experiencing moderate or more accurately probably low...- h20buzz

I took mine off burn in a couple hours ago as well, as they'd surpassed 50 hours. Very big difference from 24-25 hours to 50+ as compared to 0-24. The harsh upper mid emphasis that always drives my right ear nuts has all but vanished, and i find the signature of these to be rather warm and...- h20buzz

Quote: Same here. Mine are just shy of 50 right now, and i'm avoiding listening to my other phones for a day, and then going to see if my impressions change. Then i'll be satisfied with whatever impressions i have of them without wondering if i gave them a truly fair shake. Look forward...- h20buzz

Quote: Thanks. That gives me an idea of what the custom tips do for the sound. I found the glider tips less harsh than the tri-flange,so if the custom tips are even less so, that gives me an idea of what to expect if i decide to go that route.- h20buzz

Quote: Yeah, the lack of a customizable EQ is my only knock against ipods, which i otherwise really prefer. I don't have my Sony player with me for the next couple days, but i'll be pairing the MC5 with it later in the week to see if a tweakable EQ makes them more to my liking...- h20buzz

I bought a pair of these to use for my gym phones hoping for great isolation and some decent detail. The isolation is super,no doubt about that, but for me these have a strong emphasis on upper mids. I have an ear that drives me crazy when i use phones that emphasize upper mids, so these are...- h20buzz

Regretting the HJC900s Still time to return...thoughts?
The Panasonic's absolutely will change. Let 'em play for a couple overnights before judging. I know mine changed a fair amount from out-of-the-box. There's no way they should lack bass. They might not have as much as you want, but no iem is gonna pound like a pair of 12" subwoofers. Mine have...- h20buzz

Review: Fischer Audio's DBA-02
Listening / A/B'ing the DBA-02 and HJE900 right now, and the similarities between the two are scary...again, i have Comply on both at the moment.,altering the "normal" sound of the 900's...silicone tips will give a greater discrepancy i'm sure. I may check that out a little later.- h20buzz

Review: Fischer Audio's DBA-02
Quote: Well, most will tell you that the HJE900 has a much brighter treble, and i would agree...with stock tips...I put Comply's on mine to kill a little of it and make it more to my liking. With the tip change it actually makes them very similar IEM's. Comply's change the 900's sound...- h20buzz

Review: Fischer Audio's DBA-02
Quote: Funny you should ask this, because i actually was thinking at first that they were quite similar. I popped in my X10's last night for a quick comparo and found that i was wrong. The X10 has a little more but quite different bass presence, less decay would be what you'd notice the...- h20buzz

Review: Fischer Audio's DBA-02
Mine came in the mail today too. So far i really like these. I was shocked at how easily they were to slip in and fit right out of the box for me, and i have small ears and more times than not have to fight to get a proper fit/seal. These fit me as easily as my Klipsch X10 and feel just as light...- h20buzz
