Songs that make your headphone WOOOOOW!!!

    If you're a fan of Skyrim, I highly recommend Malukah The Dragonborn Comes (cover from the game). When she gets to the end, send shivers down my spine.   ;

Good headphones under $300? (bose or sennheiser)

Quote: I too think you should start off with closed cans, then buy a second pair of open ones later. That's what I did. I got the DT 770 Pro first, then Grado SR80, then Senn HD 650.   The DT 770 Pro are absolutely the most comfortable closed cans I've ever used, however, they're...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Quote: Absolutely! I bought the DT 770 Pro as my first good cans because of how everyone here raved about how comfortable they are (plus they're closed & relatively inexpensive), although in truth the 650 are even more comfortable to wear. Quote: That's great to hear, I've...

Gaming: Sennheiser HD 280 Pro or Audio-Technica ATH-M50?

I love the DT770 Pro 80 for gaming headphones, the perfect balance of soundstage/clarity for competitive gaming & a big wow-factor for fun gaming.

    Grado SR325

I've been thinking about upgrading my SR80s also. Now that you have the 325 in-hand, how do the 2 compare sound-wise to you?

closed bassy w/ good overall tonal balance for Metal?

Quote:   I too enjoy listening to some metal on the DT770 Pro. Plenty enough bass.   I actually prefer most metal on the Grado SR80 or Senn HD 650 but those are both open & don't fit your criteria.

    Grado Fan Club!

Quote: When I first got my pair of SR80s, I found the stock bowl pads to be very uncomfortable & bought some yellow HD414 pads off eBay. I also followed the post on here about reshaping the headband for more comfort. Then after a couple months I got used to the bowl pads on my ears & like...

    Bass heavy open headphones?

The HD 650 definitely have a lot of bass, plenty enough for me.   Although when I first got my pair I thought they didn't have any bass. It took me a couple hours to finally notice that the foobar equalizer has the bass sliders turned way down.

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

Thanks for the in-depth reviews Zombie_X! I currently have a set of the 770 Pro 80s but lately have been considering moving up to a 990 version.

I got my HD650 from Headroom with their Micro Stack with Headphones bundle. That bundle's only $300 more than just the Micro Stack (no headphones) bundle. Since I wanted the micro stack, I figured added $300 for some HD650s was a good deal. Needless to say, I'm really enjoying the 650, great set...

Never, ever, buy headphones off of ebay.

I've purchased headphones twice from eBay with no problem. I've also made over 1,000 other purchases/sales on eBay & have rarely ever had a problem with anyone. Like Croozer said, you need to look out for those sellers with signs of being shady & stay away.   Some things I watch out for: I...

Suggestions over ear headphones with great bass

I wouldn't say Beats totally suck, but they are very overpriced for what you get IMO. You're paying mainly for the look & Dre's name to be put on them, not for sound quality.    And sound is subjective to the listener, if you've listened to Beats & you like the sound, then maybe they're the...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Quote: Of the 3 cans I have the HD 650 is my favorite all-around to listen to. However I've noticed exactly what you've described, the Grado's emphasize much more of the "hearing things you've never heard before" effect, but they're also much more fatiguing to my ears. I can listen to the...

Few questions on Beyerdynamic Dt 770 pro-80s

Edit: Looking at the specs of the 32 Ohm version, the low sensitivity will probably make it harder to drive than the 80s. Still might work without an amp.
