is it just me or does onboard audio sounds way better than the sb omni?

Thanks for the suggestion! Reason why I wanted to Check out xonars was because I liked using dolby vss when I still had my logitech g930. Such crappy headset made awesome just by adding surround sound. I don't necessarily want surround sound for fps games and such since I don't really play fps...

For the sb omni owners, I have a question : Is there a way to just turn omni into an amp and amp up the volume for my mobo's realtek driver (alc892)? I just wanted to test my motherboards realtek driver software's features and such but the volume is kinda low if I just plug in my headphones...

It's about a 100-ish $ difference between the 2 so you might want to do that

    Headphones for gaming/music

Well it IS in the lead on your poll so.. that might be what what you are looking for. It also has the most bass in your list, which is very nice on your music genre preference.you might want to change the stock cable if you are going for the x1's though, some people don't like the warm sound...

The sound stage for the x1 is very wide though. Not as wide compared to the others mentioned but it is definitely enough for fps gaming . IMO the sound stage difference is negligible for gaming purposes

All of the headphones you mentioned would do you well for gaming but imo The x1's should be what you need considering the genre you like to listen to

Asus Xonar U7 DAC/AMP Impressions Thread

I have tried the Razer surround sound and it is very similar to the omni's headphones mode. The 5.1 surround sound on omni kind of sucked on headphones since I couldn't hear parts on my screen. I did own dolby gaming headphones before, (logitech g930, turtlebeach dx11, etc) and I did like the...

    The hate on beats, why?

Vmoda on x1 tighter bass, better clarity compared to x1cable. X1 cable on x1 has a warm feel, slightly bigger sound stage imo. Beats cable on x1 gives off punchier bass (just right for me), clarity is somewhat between x1 cable's and vmoda's. Beats cable on beats pros has a strong bass, deep...
