Alright, I haven't done enough listening to give an ultra in-depth review, but I'm gonna try to sit down and knock down some broadsides. Soundstage: The LCD-3's soundstage is larger than the DX's. Neither can has the largest soundstage around, so it's a little like fighting over 4th place...- defcan

*looks around* Was that directed at me? If you're talking about my headphones, then yeah, they came in about three days ago. Sorry for not putting in an update I was gonna at least say they were in, but (and I'm not gonna lie) I was really disappointed with the sound when I...- defcan

HD800 Story Telling Time - *Warning* Prepare thyself, not for the faint of heart - (You've been warned!)
I wouldn't worry about it, Mr. Scotch. It's a great read, and I'm sure the one or two less than pleasant remarks are simply out of frustration from not having more of your story to read. It's kind of a compliment in a strange... socially awkward way. Anyways, what's a mystery without a...- defcan

NEW 2013 Beats Studios...
I'd heard the original Beats line up before (not counting the pros) and didn't really care for the sound. Recently though, I got a chance to compare my Beryerdynamic DT770 80ohms to the Beats Studios when a co-worker brought his pair in. I was actually a little surprised at how much the sound...- defcan

The Basshead Club
Perhaps, but my childhood was in the late 80's/early 90's and I still want that giant boombox I never got for Christmas lol- defcan

Getting Motivated - Headphones for Weight Loss
Oh God! Kilograms ...gives me flashbacks of working out in British gyms, carrying around conversion charts and doing math in between sets lol Anyways, if ya'll are gonna post your daily routines then you might wanna think about posting your meals as well. It's the most important...- defcan

The Basshead Club
That's an awesome can, but it might be a little hard to find at a good price. It's about $325 on Amazon right now, and that's used (when I got mine for about $250 new). Ever since they closed production on that series, prices have skyrocketed.- defcan

Dear Head-Fi, I need help choosing my first pair of high quality headphones.
Hey, Heulyn. I don't have any amp experience other than the two I own, but I thought I'd throw out some suggestions since no one else has yet. Going through the Head Gear section for amps, it looks like these are some popular solide state, desktop choices in your price range: JDS Labs...- defcan

Dear Head-Fi, I need help choosing my first pair of high quality headphones.
Of your headphones, I've only heard the HD650's and the DT 990's (although the 600ohm version), and between those two I'd go with the DT990's for the purposes of watching movies/gaming. The DT has more bass (which you said you prefered) and is much less noticeable during long listening...- defcan

Getting Motivated - Headphones for Weight Loss
Good luck, Wolfdog. The first couple of weeks are always the hardest. Once you get past the rough part and establish a pattern, it's smooth sailing from there. You got an exercise routine or diet planned out yet?- defcan

The Basshead Club
I can't comment on the JVC's yet... sadly.. I've ordered a pair, but they're a long ways from arriving. However, I'd expect them to be different from the XB series. The XB1000's I have are extremely boomy and loose... not in a bad way, but they're so focused on bass that for me to really...- defcan

Hmmmmm...... interesting. Not entirely what what I expected to hear. If I could ask you a quick question, 24Bit... Quote: I take "punchy" to mean the actual slam, or physical pressure, the headphones exert. When you say they aren't punchy, does that mean they sound bassy, but don't...- defcan
