    SONY NW-ZX2

Ever since lusting for the AK240 after comparing it to my AK100II recently, now awaiting the imminent arrival of an ZX2 and seeing if it is really better than the AK's.   In what ways can ZX2 be connected to Chord Hugo?

    AKG K812 Pro

Experimented K812 with iPod 5.5 and sound is great with "small speakers" EQ. Nice bass and enjoyable to listen to even at higher volumes (treble is controlled). Using double helix cable.   On a side note, K812 doesn't sound good with AK100 ii with EQ off. K812 didn't sound that good with Chord...

Thanks for your comparisons. Have you compared the Roxanne to se846? What are the noticeable differences in sound?

Interesting observations. I have dx90 and recently acquired ak100ii and find ak100ii fills sound in my ears more, the overall sound and especially the Bass really extends and is full but precise. But this is with se846, and I feel ak100ii brings out more of the potential of se846 than dx90. dx90...

Just clicked buy it now on ebay for AK100II. Ouch! Hard to resist with $100 coupon. The dark metal looks very nice. Curious to see how it compares with DX90 (the loser of the shootout will be sold mercilessly on ebay).

There's no irritating hiss with SE846, just silence. It's no contest, DX90>DX50.   For me, having enough bass = emotional involvement in songs. 3D layering where you can distinguish the subtle changes in depth of the sound also = more involvement. DX90 has both.

The DX90 is one sweet unit. Still pondering getting AK100II/AK120II but DX90 has amazing synergy with SE846 (with Dance EQ). If the AK units are indeed a little bass light, maybe not for me. DX50 was quite anaemic in general, DX90 is a whole different animal.

"Sorry if this is a silly question... is it just me or did B&H have ak100ii for 799. Site shows 899 now, but could've sworn i saw it for 799.. was i just dreaming?"     Not dreaming my friend.

Any owners of both the DX90 and AK100II or AK120II? I have DX90 and thinking of splurging for one of the new AK's to use with SE846 if they are much better. I'm quite happy so far with DX90 set on Dance EQ with SE846.

    AUDEZE LCD XC

Looking forward to getting the toxic silver cable - waiting nearly 3 months for them to be constructed. If you've tried out the X with the black dragon cable, how does the combination compare with the sound of the LCD 3's?

    AUDEZE LCD XC

Just received my XC today. WOW! Paired with the black dragon cable, the combination sounds nearly perfect for my ears.    So far better than my X but still awaiting a Toxic silver cable to listen with and compare (which I expect will make a huge difference). The black dragon cable with the X...

    AKG K812 Pro

After more burning in the K812, I'm really enjoying it more and more. Previously I criticised it for it's piercing treble but I think that was due to my ears being too fatigued by listening to various headphones for days. After rest and burning in, it's really great.   My LCD-X has excellent...

    AUDEZE LCD XC

Interesting, I'm tossing up getting an LCD XC to for its closed back ability or LCD 3. Before you let go of the XC, why not try a darker sounding headphone cable? I have a Moon Audio Black Dragon cable with my LCD X and it sounds darker, solid with more emphasis on the mids and bass.

I have to agree with Tyll's review so far - the treble is harsh. Can't increase the volume to normal levels for a sustained period because of it. Anyway, still burning in the headphones.

    AKG K812 Pro

Yes, I was amazed by it when I heard them at the shop - lucky enough to also demo the AK240 with them. The K812 sounds beautiful with instruments but I found some EDM sounds harsh to my ears. The stock interconnects dampens the "metallic-ness" of the treble, has less detail in exchange for...
