Headphone Sightings 2
Just saw a guy walking around with Sony XB500s or 700s. Not too sure. But this heavily surprised me especially because I'm in a high school infested with beats fever.- B-Wong

no bass in Ultrasone DJ1/HFI580?
I have the HFI 580 and I don't feel the bass to be lacking at all. It sounds full and lush while still being able to give me just the right amount of rattle I like. Then again, I'm no basshead so maybe other peoples' tastes are for much more bass than I look for.- B-Wong

Ultrasone H-fi 780 in Amazon
Don't worry about the date being availible, that just means that the product was being sold on Amazon at that time. The product is going to remain the same, there is no "new" model of the HFI 780. Also to determine whether it'd be better than the beats studio for you, it'd help a bunch if...- B-Wong

why so ugly?
Quote: In. Your. Opinion. An average consumer hasn't been exposed to higher end headphones so the design might not be as universally accepted. Also Beats is a huuuuuuuuge marketing tool for people so if you showed and random stranger both of the headphones they'd draw multiple...- B-Wong

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Went to a family house party and brought my HFI 580's. One of my cousin notices me listening to music and is like "Hey dude lemme try those out!" So he puts em on and starts blasting his techno (good thing they don't leak that much) and within minutes he's having his own little party in his head...- B-Wong

Audio Technica ATH-M50 vs Bose AE2 vs Shure SRH840
Quote: You're probably not going to get any good impressions of bose or beats headphones around these forums, but that's not to say you can't trust these people. I'd vouch for you to take the ATH M50 over the other ones, too. The Bose just don't sound that good, the M50's would be amazing...- B-Wong

ATH-M50 Bass Quality vs Studio Beats Bass Quality?
Quote: Beats fart in your ears M50's have a lot of quantity and quality but can be a bit untame sometimes. Not ever as bad as the Beats.- B-Wong

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Brought my HFI 580's to school today. Friend had the beats but wanted to try out my headphones. Friend 1 (used to generic constantly breaking headphones): "Oh my god dude can I have these? These sound ******* amazing!" Friend with beats put them on and looked spaced out for the next...- B-Wong

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Quote: Everyone has their own musical preference. I personally dislike most dubstep because to me, it feels like there's literally no structure and it sounds extremely random. BUT I like this dubstep song: And I like it because it's catchy and actually has a structure. I wouldn't go...- B-Wong

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
So maybe not a high-end phone, but today I brought my old HD203's to school cause I was going to hand them down to my good friend (I just got my HFI-580 so I have no use for those anymore other than (maybe) a sound comparison. But I can always ask to borrow it if I'd ever want to do that) and I...- B-Wong

HFI-580 Review: An Audiophile Noobie's Perspective!
So I'm coming off of the Sennheiser HD203, and I've grown to hate the sound of that headphone oh so much. The bass is flat and not quite detailed, but it's just... there I guess. Mids are decent and highs are a bit tinny. Comfort is below average, I find my head aching every time I take them off...- B-Wong
