    Fostex T60RP

After having buzzing driver issue and had my T60rp sent back to HK for replacement, I finally got a replacement pair back straight from fostex jp (my HK dealer as well as its distributer, DMA Audio, refused that it had any problems and repeatedly saying they sounded OK and had ‘tested’ with...

From my experience (I have very tiny ear canals) the tri-flange fits best, quick and sounds best.

I do, when worn over the ears the microphonic noise from cable is pretty much reduced, and the earphones don’t feel like they are being pulled down bu the weight anymore.

    Fostex T60RP

May I ask if there're any healthy Fostex T60RPs out there that don't rattle with loud bass? It really seems Fostex really sucks with QC on Tx0RP line. If there is a pair out there that is healthy, I'll send mine in for replacement, if not (or the majority has defect) I guess I would do nothing...

FYI I knew I got the same amount of seal from custom vs stock tips because I equiped each earphone with each type and shug them into my ears. The custom one is a lot more comfortable though. I then played music in mono through these and I find the bass quality and quantity almost identical in...

how does the break-in work, less friction on the surface or stiffness-related? my silicone tips are soft-type (which was my only choice) and what makes them hard to put on is the friction. I think the their fit is perfect though it’s hard to put on, since once put on properly (always takes me...

No, because as I said, the seal is unchanged in my case so the bass quantity is more or less the same. I tried to A-B test between custom tips and stock tips, but it took me almost a minute to switch tips and wear the earphones so my auditory memory wouldn’t be accurate enough to reliably...

Just got my silicone tips. Clarity is very much improved! I guess it’s the upper midrange that sounds most different from stock tri tips? I achieved the same level of seal with the tri-flange, nonetheless these etys for sure sound better and are much more comfortable with custom tips, although...

Thank you for your EQ guide! If I don’t boost any freq (only suppressing 10kHz) then I do I still have to turn the pre-amp down to avoid clipping? Sorry for noob question, I’ve never EQed before. May I ask if your pair rattles with bass frequency? Yesterday only the right driver was showing the...

    Fostex T60RP

OK So I found out that these could rumble in bass department, so I test this by generating 50Hz-100Hz 20-second at -6dBFS sine sweep in ocenaudio for Mac and now my pair got weird. I think the sub-bass is shaking my hair, or some exterior part of the headphone to make sound, because if I press...

    Fostex T60RP

So finally got back home to my desktop setup. After 2 days of adapting my ear to the sound of the headphones, I still find them a bit hot in treble, that I don't use them for metal. The peak is at maybe at 9-10kHz? (I saw it from measurement posted somewhere in this thread, but not sure about...

    Fostex T60RP

Just got myself a pair of T60RP in Hong Kong (HK$2380, non-VAT-refundable). Was aiming at AKG K550 MK3 or Senn HD4.40 as cheap souvenir to myself, but ended up getting these wooden bad boyz instead lol. FYI I was heartbroken by the HE4xx, so I wanted to try other planar headphones. At the time...
