Alex says I will be in for the second batch.  He lost my name!  The price has gone up $300 or so since I last talked with him.  Oh well.

Right... too much of the good stuff for me at the dentist today.... but there should be a trace on the film there for the electricity to flow.

Just funnin' with you.

Am being honest here,  I love the TPs and hate to have to admit this (especially since i don't think i can afford the usurper), the LCD-2 is more than a match for the TPs in the low frequency response. It does extend lower, the texturing is even more vivid.  For me most importantly, the LCD-2 sounds so much more 'real'.

My pair arrived!  Yay FedEx!  But I'm stuck on a conference call for the next hour and a half.  Boo work!

Guess I really shouldn't complain, since work is what made it possible to buy them.  :p

in a nutshell, those of you who have an LCD2 - what kind of amp seems to offer synergy? why?

An amp that is capable of delivering the current needed to make the LCD-2's their best.

~130mW per channel should give you ~112dB with 3dB of headroom.  As long as an amp can deliver that power @ 2.6v into the ~50 ohm resistive load, (sinking ~50mA) you're good to go.  Since the load isn't reactive, any reasonably well designed amp should do well.  The ultimate synergy?  Yet to be determined.

So anyone heard the Aikido? Kwkarth what amp are you using?

I am hoping to complete a HV Aikido build by the end of the month if all goes to plan with 6CG7 for input and 6H30 for output tubes.  From everything I have read this should be a special amp. Shame that not many have built it on HF so we could get more impressions.

I'm building my Aikido 24V at 75V with a few MOSFETs to try in the output buffers.  I will probably build it up at 24V first too, since I have the trafo and PS for it already.

Very nice which Mosfets Will you be using? It seems like there Will be several nice amps around and Spritzer mentioned the Dynafet possibly coming Along for CanJam as well so I think I will wait for impressions and use my 300B in the meantime. Anyone know of any good mini XLR plugs that will fit the LCD-2s so I can get à cable ready until they arrive?

See, I told ya! We'll have to establish a cutoff time! You can't listen up to sleepy-time...no de-compression! Then that leads to more listening...it's a vicious cycle.

. I'm beat!
