I'm using the w1000x's out of a Pan Am, and after the mod there's nearly no sibilance spike, coming from a guy who is rather treble sensitive, it's quite remarkable

I have no idea if J$ ear pads would be able to remedy it, but I know the L3000 ear pads don't.

The L3000k pads for me... didn't tone dwn the treble at all. But that is what the Mullard Tubes are for imo. Still have yet to do the mod... proably something I'll do in Agusust when I get back in school and have some free time on my hands!

Indeed, I'm lucky to be rather oppisite of that. I'm... treble trained. I can take lots of it without it getting to me...

Talking about which, I had some extensive time with the tubes. Mullard actually increased treble the longer it was burned in. And it became overwhelming after a while, so I went back to Ediswan.

New power tube somewhat remedied the treble issue, but it's still quite too much for my ears.

I did a new mod to tone it down a notch, but it doesn't look like the W1000X would stay long with me after this. I thought it was the right one, but treble is just too much for me, and it's not even like I'm that old.

WS99 is darker and more muddled than ES10 from some accounts.

And ES10 is darker and more muddled than W1000X.

So WS99 is significantly darker and more muddled than W1000X.

While I do like mine, the more time I have one my dt 990 the more I want to mod my w1000x to give it that tighter bass

I just had the chance to demo Sennheiser HD800 and Audeze LCD-3... two of the heavy-hitters.

And out of Sennheiser's new Sennheiser HDVD800 headphone amp/DAC, no less!

HD800 has expansive soundstage and pretty good clarity and timber. I think for a stock HD800, that's a pretty impressive feat.

LCD-3 has a more closed in soundstage, much darker tonality, and the overall timber doesn't sound as natural as HD800. Probably due to the nature of the amp (I suspect it was made specifically for the HD800).

But I still think my W1000X is a better fit for me than those 2.

Let's see if I can bring my W1000X for a listen today.

I modded mine today, they sound most wonderful! Also any tips for cleaning and buffing out mirco scrathes q.q. My Left Cup has some minor Scuffage q.q

Going to be hard to buff out scratches on the finish.  Best to just leave it be and say they're well used.

Bleh they are such Faint Scratches, but yea they are byound well used xD
