THE best female vocals? (your favorite female singers)

Brooke Sharkey has quite an interesting voice:

and Nadine Shah sounds a bit similar:

Not bad although I'm not a big fan of the vibrato.

I've been recently listening to "Boy" and I'm really digging Valeska's voice in all the acoustic renditions of their songs.

Roxanne Tataei (AKA 'Rox'):

In some respects, she reminds me a bit of Corrine Bailey Rae (who has been previously mentioned in this thread)...

Yes, I knew Corinne Bailey Rae has been posted many times before (only posted her for the sake of direct comparison with Rox), but as for andreya trianna, my apologies - the thread search didn't reveal 'trianna'. Sorry about that!

Cheers for the heads-up on the birdy album.

Ahhh.... just realised the reason it did not come up on thread search was that I searched for trianna and it should have been triana.

I reckon Natalie Duncan has potential, although I am wary that she might, potentially, be headed down the road of the illum1nati club, in which case I won't touch any of her stuff with a bargepole

I coulda sworn I'd posted her before, but a thread search is yielding nothing, so I'll venture to post an 80s pop songstress by the name of Kim Wilde:

As a youngster, I used to have such a thing for Kim!

(incidentally. she also looked a bit reminiscent of Kelly McGillis, of 'Topgun' fame)

I have never really listened to that much music with female vocalists, but as of lately I have being discovering a lot of female artists that I really enjoy. I don't like their music just for their voice but more as a complete package, so here are the ones I've being listening to the most lately:

Chelsea Wolfe:
really dark atmosphere to here music and just overall great . Her new album is amazing.

Julia Holter:

extremely dreamy and beautiful music.

St Vincent.

Amazing singer and guitar player, nuff said :)

These are just the ones I've been listening to the most but I've been also really enjoying Regina Spektor, Ellie Goulding, Lily Allen, Now,Now among others
There are also some hardcore bands like Code Orange Kids and Circle Takes the Square with great female vocalists, but they do a 50/50 of singing and screaming so I guess it's not appropiate for this thread.
The ones above might not be the best vocalists ever but the music as a whole package for sure is amazing and I hope some one will enjoy any of them

I've always loved Angie Hart from Frente. She may not be not the best vocalist, but she has a cute voice and interesting lyrics. The band a pretty damn good too.

Well, that takes me back.  Kids in America was a great song and video.

Ah, Kim Wilde was so hot. I personally had a thing for Susanna Hoffs from The Bangles.
Btw, I'm listening to Birdy's new album and while nothing groundbreaking it's pretty enjoyable.
