Good to know, thanks! It has the same DAC chip, Sabre ESS9018K2M, as the DX90 does, but only one.   DSD64/128/DSF/DFF... Looks like they made a quantum leap with their firmware update 1.0.5! I wish my DX90 had that functionality. Hope dies last, though...

Pono lacks DSD support. They said "No" to this format as it won't be offered at Pono Shop. Does it have an integrated amp? No? 400 bucks? Are you pulling my leg? If I should replace my DX90 with another DAP, I'd look at - FiiO X3-II/X5-II - Cayin N6 - iBasso DXxxx

Yes, it does. They are glossy, though. That is the problem. I have a matte screen protector and I'm happy with it.

Check the syntax of this CUE sheet.   The drawback of CUE playback using the DX90: The list of songs is not displayed. One must press FORWARD/BACK in order to get to the desired one.

Right you are! No pain - no gain! :-)   P.S. No, I don't need video playback. I bought the DX90 as one of the best DAPs on the market. There are enough gadgets that can play video files.

My DX90 was working as DAC under Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit. However, I saw at least one BSOD :-)

I've never performed any back-to back testing, but I will do it in the future. Actually, I don't care 'cause one needs a spare battery anyway, imho.

I'm using the DX90 with my XBA-A3. It will be MUCH better after your Z5 have been burnt in. Besides, I would recommend to use Hi Gain setting: Sony hybrids are quite power hungry. Otherwise the lows (bass) are not that "punchy" but rather flat and exhausting...

I had some sudden track switches. Nothing else. All in all, the new FW (modified by Lurker) is rock solid!
