Toxic Cables - Impressions and Discussion Thread
It's been a long time coming: I've finally replaced my old (2011-2013, can't remember) original single-wire venom cable. I bought the original cable second-hand and one of the wires snapped -- it was known for being fragile and I had moved around a lot thru the years. I placed an order with...- TK277

Seattle Spring Meet at BottleHeadquarters 4/25/2015 impressions
Lots of smiles at the event! Here are some pics. Also I thought the WA7 sounded heavenly with the LCD-3s. First amp outside of my Mjo that I thought did an exceptional job with the LCD-3s. Audeze EL-8s sounded exceptional when I tried that out as well. Clean sound. I'm a sucker for...- TK277

I would agree that buying direct and ordering the cables from them is the way to go. I believe in Schiit when it comes to Audeze. I used their PYST for about a year – perfect length for stacking. Get nice and comfortable with the system before looking for things to upgrade...going in with all...- TK277

I agree; I just wasn't prepared for the (seemingly) random offshoots into character backgrounds. But, it all makes sense in the end.- TK277

Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread
I haven't ever used the wood polish thing on my LCD-3s. I don't know if the previous owner did... but it's nearing a year that I've owned these... the finish is pretty smooth on these, I don't know if they're coated or treated with anything... would hate to see them crack.- TK277

HD800/LCD2 and Amps
I've seen people go either way on the HD800s. The pairs I listened to were using Solid State Schiit (the Ragnarok, actually), but I see a lot of Senn fans use tubes. It seems like a waste to buy "budget" gear to go with a flagship headphone, but if you're going to upgrade in the next 6 months...- TK277

In need of recommendation for a good IEM
If you like bass the IE80 would work for you... the Westone 4 (W40 these days?) may also be a good match; they aren't bassy out of the box, but with foam/comply tips they start to emphasize bass (foam tips included with W40). Throw in a BTG-Audio cable and the bass will receive another bump.- TK277

HD800/LCD2 and Amps
Having listened to HD800 straight out of a box and an HD800 tricked out with audiophile cables and reverse-phasing, I still prefer the LCD house sound for rock. HD800 have unparalleled width, but the mids and bass are my cup of tea, which the LCDs cater to me. I listen to a lot of alt/space/mod...- TK277

Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread
I don't feel qualified to say that the Rok is only a touch more resolving than the Mjo. I didn't get to A/B test in a quiet environment. I merely brought my LCD-3 to meets that had the Rok and listened that way. What I do feel comfortable saying is that I don't plan to upgrade to the Rok...- TK277

I use the Mjolnir with my LCD-3 and I have nothing but praise. I've auditioned the 'Rok with my LCD-3 at a couple of meets and I still love my Mjo.- TK277

On mobile device as I watch AGDQ... Wanted to drop in and say that I enjoyed Mawaru Penguindrum even tho I didn't get it. The Penguin charas were hilarious and the "Rock over Japan" single is in my music library. Thanks for reminding me of Fabulous Max, too. Too good.- TK277

I enjoyed Space Dandy because it was honest about itself. It didn't stray from taking silliness to the extreme, and the romanticism of the music, pop culture, art style, and "c'est la vie" motto appealed to my dumb American self. Quote: I like you, too. Started watching in 2013...- TK277

I literally laughed out loud. I-5 sucks from 7am to 7pm Monday thru Friday. I've traveled at 2pm every day of the week and the ramps are clogged and southbound traffic is backed up for miles. I've witnessed near-misses, almost hit a vehicle that slammed their brakes quicker than mine slam (I was...- TK277

Ah haha. The only one of those I recognize is Black Butler, which I watched thru its entirety having never read the manga. I didn't care for it... would not recommend it next to the other anime on my list. @mechgamer123 Seattleites unite! I've only been here a month but I love it. I moved...- TK277

Agreed 100%. After you get over the sticker shock (so to speak) it's actually kinda hilarious (and I really dislike fanservice). Also, the action, story, aesthetic/animation, story, and everything else is soooooo worth it.- TK277

Informative, thanks! What do I think of Psycho Pass, KLK, Durarara!! and even Space Dandy? I enjoyed each and every one of them. For starters, they're all gorgeous and have good music. The way Durarara!! comes together felt oh-so-satisfying. Psycho Pass was full of great philosophy...- TK277

My Schiit Mjo/Gungnir combo is my go-to. One day I'll finance the 'Rok and Yggy. But I'm super happy with the Mjo/Gungir combo even after auditioning the 'Rok paired with my Gungnir at a few meets. I'll probably replace the fuses in my combo with Synergistic Research reds as my next upgrade. ...- TK277

Yes, I am sick of a big part of anime. That's why it's hard for me to find ones I like. I appreciate the themes of empowerment (or equality to that of the cool male charas) in female characters found in Psycho Pass, Durararara!! and KLK. Even Space Dandy gave quirks and personality to the...- TK277

Westone Monitor Vault: First Impressions
I've dropped my ES5s and W4Rs in these cases quite a few times and now I am confident that these monitor vaults protect our precious IEMs. I only wish the case was larger so that custom cables would fit in the case. I have the problem with fit using the monitor savers for their custom IEMs as well.- TK277
