I was hoping that nothing would attract my attention too much that I would be OK with skipping this drop but I guess I really am weak against purple since this is my second purple Atrium Open now.

The dark wood and purple combo complemented by the gunmetal was just too much for me.

And throw in a matching case and stand and I just couldn't keep overlooking it any longer.

Time to start a frugal life style again I guess, but it was worth it.

Wow, those are spectacular, what a set! Congrats my man! I'd be over the moon with that, I hope you will post a bunch of pics when you get it all.

I tell myself Zach will make plenty more beautiful headphones in future drops, and there's always used. It was sort of nice to not stress out for this, but I can hardly claim virtue since I bought both Bokeh Open launch edition AND the Brown Mallee Burl Auteur Classic from the holiday drop! And my (already paid for) Modhouse Tungsten DS showed up (recently).

because sales of the RarityDrop versions seem to be stalling a bit, even though many very nice models are still available

Yeah it's pretty wild seeing that there still is a Pink Ivory Caldera Open, and a bunch of Amboyna AOs. I suspect it's a combination of people already getting their fill in November, and also long-term financial worries, given the current political uncertainty.

They recently did a drop that contained burls, so that may be part of it. I'm sure they will sell eventually. There are always a few stragglers until people stare at them enough and buy them. Whatever doesn't sell at the drop will likely show up at a canjam.
