ZMF x Vibro & ZMF Blackwood Discussion Thread.

I am going to purchase an after market boutique cable if there is a good deal on Black Friday.

So I need to spec the connector for my Vibros. I thought I simply ask for an Audeze plug but apparently there are serval different plugs used by Audeze. Can anyone tell me which Audeze model plug it should match to?

You want the LCD series plugs, not the EL-8 versions. I use the same cable for my Vibro and LCD-2, works fine.

Edit: Here's the stock Audeze cable for your reference:

subbed for a comparison between mk1 and mk2 vibro. Is the vibro (either edition) different enough from the MDP to warrant owning both?

Unfortunately there's only 1 MK II in the wild, and second is going out today, but to Australia! I'm getting 5-8 sets out next week.

Yes and I'm the one who has it.

Zach is also the mastermind of ZMF. He would know.

OH...I'm a dummy and didn't realize @Jozurr's set was arriving today.  THERE'S 2 IN THE WILD!  There's only a few people I think that will have heard both,  Here's what is listed on my site as the differences, from what I hear/measure:

VS the MK I Vibro the MK II has:

  1. A wider and deeper soundstage for more pin-pointing of "stage-cues."
  2. Less "thickness" to the mid and upper bass as well as the mid-range.
  3. A greater sense of "air."
  4. More sub-bass presence.
  5. A more neutral presentation while remaining "fun."

I will add that this tuning is probably more "audiophile friendly" than the MK I if that makes sense.  The MK I was less detailed in the highs and more frontal in it's imaging with more mid-bass, it's a very fun headphone.   The MK II has a more circular soundstage and less thick while still be lush-ish and slightly warm.

I dunno, others will have to chime in for sure once I get more out there!

I'm going want to try the MKIIs and I'm just ordering a new cable for MKIs. Does the MKII use the same Audeze plugs as the MKI and Blackwood?
