Hi this is ironwood right ? Its beautiful but hard to appreciate in pictures.I'll be honest, it's not the most beautiful wood grain, and I wish the metal could have been brass. But it sounded better to me than my own VO Cocobolo, so I ended up keeping this one!

I wondered what the rose gold would look like. Still not decided between copper, rose gold, and brass. Decisions Decisions.

Copper and brass will have aging effect more than the others. While stainless steel is most "indestructible" one.
I do really like rose gold on camphor burl though.

My VO's came in this weekend. The wood looks amazing!
Beautiful headphone!
And kudos for "driftingbunnies," which IMHO is a wonderful screen name.

Haha thanks! Yeah they're pretty great. I had a pair of pheasantwood's but I like these due to them being a little more lightweight and the gloss is awesome. I'm still getting them comfortable though.

Silkwood VO is in the house. 2nd picture is my temp burn-in station in garage. By Tues night, burn-in will be @200 hrs and time to do some real listening.
I love the look of this wood: very subtle grain & a beautiful, rich color. The plush perforated lambskin universe pads are among the most comfortable I've found. It's a real pleasure to handle this headphone...
The very little listening I've done (10-15 seconds here & there to make sure music is playing & volume is right) tells me this VO is clear as bell, yet not bright at all. That's a real magic trick: how does ZMF do it?
(more to follow)
PS: the camera picked up a smudge on the upper part of right earcup; it's gone now.

I received my Verité Open last week, in Camphor Burl, along with 2k copper cable. Using BE2 Perf Hybrid Pads. After about 60 hours, everything sounds great on them, with or without EQ, and they are still improving. They are a perfect complement to HD800S and Empyrean in the setup. Work well with Phonitor X, GSX Mini, and Feliks Euforia AE (DACs are RME).
Zach, thanks for creating such a visual and auditory masterpiece! Like everyone else, I await your development of a flagship Planar, but for now, the itch is scratched, and these are long term keepers.

How did you guys decide between the ZMF copper and silver cables? Also, between the silver coated copper vs all silver?
Is there a general concensus for which is the better pairing with the VO?

ZMF recommends 2k copper with VO. I already have Meze SPC and a Silver Dragon Premium and Forza Noir Hybrid, so I filled the void in the collection.
60 hours burn in ?

No, 60 hours of resting the headphones above a Brotzeit Teller with a view on the Alps.
Also, I already have a Lyr 3 as well as a Bryston BHA-1. Does anyone have any thoughts on how those will pair with the Verite?
I got to try out on loan from a friend the open Verite with my BHA-1, its pairs great, using the BIfrost2, Aqua Voce S3 or the Orchid depending on the mood. . About ready to order the headphones.

I'd be grateful to hear any experience of open Verités with Linear Tube MZ3 headamp – I'm thinking of upgrading from my Sony TA-ZH1ES amp for a warmer sound without sacrificing detail.

The MZ3 is a fantastic amp, it's my main rig at one of my workstations. It's not a super warm sound like a true OTL as it has a lower output impedance at 2 ohms, which honestly is a very nice place to be as it's not TOO low and it still has all the benefits of a world class tube amp like holography etc and it also has a great aesthetic with that Fern and Roby design and all that.
