39:09 is where you want to see the images of the new closed back Verite. I cant wait to hear it!

Got mine on Friday. To my ear it's a dynamic Stax L700 with Focal impact with all the low end you need. HD800 detail while sounding very musical tonally with no brightness or metallic sound. It and my Eikon are likely my endgames for headphones. Selling my Jotunheim and some other gear here to replenish some funds because I've nearly bled myself dry financially on the two ZMFs, but I'm satisfied finally.

I'm excited to hear how it compares to the open-back Verite, but does anyone else feel oddly turned off by look of completely solid wood cups, without any vent holes like the Atticus/Eikon? Reminds me of the girl with no mouth from Silent Hill (don't Google if you get creeped out easily!)...

I heard the prototype at a meet we had here in St. Louis a couple of weekends ago and it sounded phenomenal. I actually preferred it to the open Verite's. It was that good...

How would you describe it, compares to Verite open and to Atticus?

I was fully expecting to like the open Vérité’s more. To my surprise I found the closed version to be a little more enjoyable. It sounded just as open with very similar tone and dynamics. At least when compared to the silk wood Vérité’s, which are my favorite of the bunch. It was very impressive to hear how open the closed Vérité’s were. The closed Vérité’s have just bit more low end punch and drive. The bass hits fast and deep with out losing any midrange or treble detail.

Honestly, I’d take these over the Atticus all day long. They are faster, more detailed and music is much more coherent with the closed Vérité’s. The Atticus still has its place in the ZMF lineup. But if you want the best closed back that Zach makes, it’s coming. This will be next headphone purchase from Zach when it comes out.

Yeah...my wife is going to strangle me.

Hey I know you just reviewed the Stellia. You review was spot on. As a matter of fact I prefer the Stellia over the Utopia. Now would you go for a closed Verite or a Stellia....just to have something different? The ZMF and the Focal will be close in price. Remember no one pays list on Focal HP's..... ZMF otoh?

Thats a good question, but I cant answer that until I hear it. I should have a loaner coming in for a review in August, but from what Ive been told, the new VC might even be better than the original Verite.

Yeah puts me in a tight spot in that I am thinking of selling my LCD2 CB's and will need a good closed back. CV or VC would be perfect but having an open and closed would be a little redundant. Hmmm..... maybe I will sell my Verite and either get the Empy's or 4Z and get the CV later? Especially if Slim is right about the CV being better than the open Verite. Decisions, decisions.......
