Verite in the house

Can you weight them without the cable ? I ordered the same specs except a black chassis and I wonder if they will be too heavy.

Damn that's heavy, can you bear them over several hours?

I have no idea how much my particular pair weighs, but theyre quite comfortable and I can wear them all day.

I don't listen for long hours but the weight is distributed perfectly and the clamp of cups also takes some weight off.

I am patiently waiting for my Verite to come in and was wondering if anyone has paired them with the Mjolnir 2 or has heard it with the new Ragnarok 2.

@nishan99 supposedly the black rods and grilles are lighter. The leather strap definitely helps on comfort level. I have brass on my Ziricote and it doesn’t bother me one bit.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My heaviest headphones are the M1060 (500g) and I don't have weight issue with them at all, I just was a bit worried about that extra 40g but now I don't think so :)

I have paired them with Mjolnir 2 and its sound great, but I like it more when pairing with WA8. I think Verite is best when you paired them with full tubes amp.

What makes the Verite a better pairing with a tube amp as opposed to an SS one? Does it have more energy up top that needs to be tamed, any sharp spikes?

I wouldn't say it sounds better, just a different presentation (and even then it depends on the type of tube amp). The Verite does sound great on most tube amps, but i also quite like it on some really good SS amps. The Verite isn't as amp picky as say the Atticus.

Also you won't find any treble spikes on the Verite either, regardless of amp.

Agreed. I wouldn’t necessarily say it sounds “better” with a SS amp compared to tubes. My V281 really utilities the speed of my Vérités. I can definitely tell the difference in that regard. But there’s something about tubes where it changes the soundstage, the vocal presentation, instrument separation and so on. Again, as with all audio, it’s very subjective. I’ve had a few of my coworkers tell me they prefer the sound coming from SS.
