Do I hear 200? Yes! Sold to the gentleman with the Verites!
(Mine kept getting better for about 200 hours.)
I feel the same and I actually think around 300 hours is what mine took to become their best.

Congrats! Walnut is gorgeous.

If they’re brand new, you’ll really want to give them a little longer than that for a fair review. I never really believed in break-in until I experienced it with my VCs.

These drivers appear overly stiff for the first 50-100 hours, and I recall them sounding a little incoherent at first. But then at some point, things just “clicked” and sounded amazing.
I want you to explain this "something clicked" with some objective reasoning!!
lol!

I have experienced this phenomena at times as well.

Sometimes things are just different from what we have experienced and the new difference may not be perceived as "good or better".

First impressions are lasting ones and hard to get over...

Spending tons of cash for stuff one naturally expects stuff to work right out of the box...

I did have another set of cans where I was told to play them for a 100 hours and they will improve.
I did this for 60 hours and nada. Sent them back.

With all the GREAT reviews and experiences with the Verites I will wait like suggested and see how it goes.
At times they are awesome other times not so awesome.

Ok back to break-in!
:>)

ZMF headphones continue to improve with time, along with "brain burn-in." I experienced this with Atrium, which I really liked at first but saw improvements over the next 200 hours. Fast forward 6-7 months and they're still my favorite headphones ever. I'm experiencing the same with the Verites I have on loan. Each session I keep hearing new things and there's some special ZMF-sauce with them that takes a while to adjust to. Safe to say I want a pair lol.

What I find most fascinating about the VC is that I do not care anymore if it is a closed headphone.
In pre VC times I always thought „should I use a closed headphone when I don‘t need it? Ah no it is quite and no one disturbes me, let‘s better stick to an open headphone.“
I will not say that the VC is as open as an open headphone but for me it is on a level that I don‘t care anymore that the VC is closed. So the VC is truly equal to my other headphones and I chose the VC when I am in the mood for it and not only because external circumstances „force“ me to use a closed headphone. :)

Holy smoke - this sounds good. Still exploring the salient features of my VC (with V222 and iDSD pro):

This is with the stock XLR cable. Looking so much forward to the Gladius from Arctic Cables, I am going to receive within the next few days :sunglasses:

Beautiful sets. Not posting my favorites/links right now to not steal ZMF/Zach's thunder, but it looks like the A-game has been brought. Very interested to see the other release pictures of other models now. I see a few that I would get with the color scheme but as an AC or Atticus since I already have a VC.

Did someone here test the Caldera Pads on the VC ? my trtain of thought here is that the caldera pads are only perforated from the outside and solid from the inside and are used on the Atrium closed as well ....

Unfortunately because the VC wasn't tuned with them in kind it does mess with sound in a way that I wouldn't recommend.

Think I am liking the Universe Lambskin a tad better than the Auteur Lambskin pads. Seem brighter to me.
The Schiit collaboration with CTEE at Nitsch and their "Piety" amp seems to be a really very good paring even when
compared to amps much higher in price. Amazing.

The suede and hybrid pads are more neutral as well, and the Be2 is also more linear if looking for that type of sound. Be2 is the same ear side volume just with the driver a little closer to the ear.
