The VC is my perfect Headphone the only thing i miss is a bit more lowend i dont want to use eq to add that do you Guys have any Tips for me to tweak the lowend ?

The VC takes to a bass shelf quite well.

If you don’t want to try EQ, have you tried the universe lambskin pads, yet? IIRC, they had the most low-end grunt.

Using an amplifier with a higher output impedance, like an OTL tube amp, can makes a noticeable improvement in sub bass quantity. This is the case with my Bottlehead Crackatwoa, as well as my vintage Sansui integrated amp.
Yeah if not wanting to EQ a higher impedance will help. Especially a transformer based amp like an Ampsandsound mogwai or cayin 6a.

Why the aversion to EQ? Against digital AND analogue EQ?
No aversion per se i was using Roon with some heavy EQ applied with my Meze Empy and Focal Elegia but im found myself to always tinkering with it and this was getting in the way of my Music enjoyment because i was changing the eq with every song ... Never considered analogue EQ would that work with something like a Shiit Loki?

You can also play around with different sources. For example, the higher-end Schiit DACs posses what’s known as “Moffat bass,” which could help lend a bit of extra authority.
I only tested the Universe Hybrid and i think they just shift the lowend more in the direction of the midbass and lose quite a bit of subbass...
Ok it looks like i have to look into high impedance Amps....Thanks a lot for the tip

Thanks very much for the recommendations i have to admit that is not my pricerange ... Would something like a Woo Audio Wa 6 SE also work ?
Thanks Again !

You could also look for a Cayin HA-3A, new from France 1500-1600€ or used from "Kleinanzeigen" for 1400€.

can confirm that the mogwai gives the VCs mega slam (and other ZMFs, and most headphones you plug into it including Sus)
only caveat is that VCs are pretty sensitive and Mogwai is very powerful, so you need really good quality tubes or you'll be able to hear any issues your tubes have more easily. For that reason, if you're only looking to drive your VC it might be worth checking out the kenzie or jinx first.

That said, I've had good luck with the new production tung sol 6550 power tubes in the mogwai.

Yes - that's exactly the type I was thinking of. I use the Schiit Lokius (with 6 bands) and have a "setting" for each of my headphones. Then once the music starts playing, I just leave it alone until I swap out headphones to something else. To my ears, it is not degrading the sound quality to run the signal through the Lokius.

Confirming that a vintage amp/receiver rocks ZMF headphones and they add a certain thickness/heft to the bass area. You can pick up a good one for much less than a dedicated HP tube amp. I should add that many 1970s receivers had a pretty high THD relative to modern SS HP amps and that goes a long ways toward giving these behemoths a tube-like sound.

Yeah I'm keeping eye out for one around my local thrift shops. Occasionally I see nice audio gear from estate sales but I'm looking for a cool vintage analog beauty like that sweet Sansui

It can be difficult to land a good vintage receiver at thrift stores unless you arrive first thing in the AM. Big business in dudes grabbing vintage pieces, fixing them up and flipping them. I've lucked out a couple of times on Craigslist. Picked up a killer, super clean Akai AA-1150 for 100 bucks. The 881 in my photo I snagged for $75.00 off of Craiglist, but like thrift stores, finding great deals on vintage receivers on CL requires patience and dilligence.

Yep that's why my wife calls it "treasure hunting" when she visits her favorite thrifting locations. I go along sometimes to see if I can luck out on any audio, tech or outdoor/military surplus gear.

Just rolled a new pair of Auteur pads onto my VCs after a year of only owning what came with the VCs (BE2 and Universe pads).

Sweet Moses, why did I wait to do this. :gs1000smile::L3000::beyersmile:

Yeah, those are my favorites. The depth and angle are most comfortable on my ears. I use the lambskin perf Auteurs on my Atrium Open as well.

The Auteur Hybrids are something special… I love some of the aspects of the Auteur lambs, but they’re just a tad too laid back for me. The hybrids seem to smooth out the peaks and valleys just enough but retain the dynamic energy.

I still want to try the Be2 with my Blackwoods one day

Well, that's encouraging to hear, since I just decided to make the purchase about an hour ago. Definitely excited to add this closed back to the AO. I have heard great things regarding the VC.. can't wait.
So, I just received my B-Stock wood Camphor Burl VC, and I honestly have no idea why these wood cups are considered B-Stock.. they look great to me.. I don't think I would be any wiser if I were to have received this set from normal A-Stock order, but I may be missing something..

Burning them in and listening to 2Cellos and immediately know I am going to love these, and they will likely give my AO a run for their money.
