I just wanted to share a pad option that took VC out of ZMF land. Think a non veiled VC. So I've been buying pads and wanted some Audeze that don't have the mounting foam.. So I ebayed around and I got some knock off one from a Chinese seller. They were meant for my Fostex T50rp and T60rp which both fully modded. Today was why not do I put them on and they kick ass.
Here's pics I put the eBay purchase if interested. I bought from them twice for same pads and both times they came. Sound is heaven bass. I can recommend for EDM as I can't vouch for other music. You do have to rub off the sticky stuff for headphones that don't have mounting grooves. Took 5-10 minutes did in my work van I just rubbed and rolled it off but I should have gotten goo gone because some vinyl paint came off. I'll either get rubber paint or try my paint pen to blacken the gray. It's a vacation from the house sound. Bass vibrates like my 1266 TC with same texture and I'm just using my heavily modded BottleHead Crack with CV181 Driver and Sylvania 6080. Here's inside of my crack the outside is ugly as USPS ran a fork lift reason they had it was because I sold it but not after USPS thought I should buy it back.

Very interesting! Have you compared them vs the BE2 solids?

Anyone heard the VC off a Hagerman Tuba? Interested in the African wood, but my chain is a Modi 3+ and Tuba.

I just ordered one, so will know once/if I receive it.

The Tuba shipped out the same day I ordered it and I got super fast.

No hum, even with sensitive IEMs!
I also like that the power button is on the front.
It's pretty much why I don't buy anything made by Schiit. I can't reach the power switch easily.
The Tuba has plenty of power for the VC.
I'm getting sufficient volume at about 11 o'clock with the high output and 1 o'clock with the low output.
It lacks a little of the speed of a solid state amp but has the more natural/analog tube sound with a wider and deeper soundstage.

Only quality LCD pads don't produce is the holographic presentation. But a Utopia clarity with harder hitting bass. It's a intimate sound presentation.

I had to buy rare looking VO from the classifieds, they just spoke to me. If I do a Stabilized epoxy VC I'll be buying on credits as my wallet is tapped. If I manage to score one I'd have to let the Atticus, VC and TH900 mk2 go. Current VC looks like this.

I miss my Ash VC's already! The Ash Auteur's I picked up are keeping me content for the moment though.

For some reason the Audeze pads make it sound like a different brand of headphone. It's a really good sound. It's like what the Fostex 900 should have sounded like maybe it's Utopia sound stage really fast the tone is lively and thick bass it's hard in bass head territory with texture and resonation. It's making better use of the beryllium driver. $29 for the pads so worthy investment.

Zach, in the purchase menus your site now shows BE^2 Solid as the recommended additional pads for Verite Closed models. Previously it was the Universe Lambskin solid. Have your thoughts changed on the pads?

I've realized the Be2 are a better secondary place to start beyond the stock pad due to it being more linear than the universe. But I would still recommend the universe pad for those who know they prefer a warmer tuning overall.

When I get a VC or VO, I'm going to have get at least 4 sets of pads, just to avoid the anxiety and FOMO because I might have ignorantly chosen 2 pad variants that I don't love as much as the others ... have you considered something like that as an optional bundle?

Did you sell them? I remember when you got yours as ours were in the same batch.
