I’ve heard that it’s a great preamp. I’ve never tried it as a preamp. How is the ZOTL 2's pre-amp capability if paired with a solid state amp?

So many have been sold that occasionally they come up for sale second hand. Thanks! Here in the EU this is almost 1600 Euros unfortunately, so above my budget. Any other suggestions?

Well the good news is that this headphone has been said to sound great with a LOT of different amplifiers. To be sure some people may be happier with one amp or another but the fact that the VC sounds good with so many amps is in my opinion a testament to how great the headphone itself is. It’s a standalone product. I can hardly get over what Zach has accomplished with this design.Right now I'm considering either a Freya+, Lyr 3 or maybe a ZOTL to pair with my SS amp
Did you move your phone away from your setup? A phone can cause some interference in one of my setups. But that's probably not it in your case?I'm getting some very faint background static, especially in more quiet tracks, in the right cup (and very slightly in the left cup). Any idea what could be causing this? Is it possibly the headphone cable itself? @zach915m

Yeah, I tried that with no luck. I even switched from RCA to XLR cables from my DAC to my Amp and tried the two different ZMF headphone cables that came with my VC's. Still got some static.
The static is only noticeable at higher volume levels and it's only in the right side. It's very strange...

We're always happy to check out your headphones if you contact us directly to troubleshoot, but it may be worth looking at the troubleshooting list on our website for any sound issues here beforehand: https://www.zmfheadphones.com/zmf-guide
Specifically, check to see if there's any sediment on the driver that may have gotten on there from pad swaps, blowing it out would likely help a lot if it doesn't seem to change with amps/setup/cables.
I would use one of these:I'll take a look. Should I just blow into the driver? Or use compressed air?
Yeah, he mentioned a here that the new stabilized drop will very likely be next week 9/3! Very exciting.Looks like a new set of stabilized VC will be coming out soon per ZMf's IG. Fingers crossed
I would use one of these:
