Thanks bud. I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw the Camphor Burl Verite Open, so i wondered how the closed one would look. Since I was looking for a compliment headphone to my Zebrawood Auteurs LTD, the VC was a no-brainer.

So I got my VCs last week. Incredibly engaging sound, Ill have to spend much more time with them but Im going from a E30 > M AAA THX > VC, not the best but we will get there the VCs were too appealing not to grab. However tonight I noticed that the right cup has a rattle/knock if I move too fast, none of the screws are loose under the pad and ensured it wasnt the chassis, kinda bummed, has anyone had this issue, or know how to fix.. not in the mood to open these up though.

My Auteur had this issue and I had to send it back to ZMF. I would suggest contacting them directly.

It's not the driver as the driver is fastened in a way that won't move into the cup etc etc. Likely it is something with the chassis - sending you a PM now!

One note for new Verite owners that I should make a note of in the owners guide - is - please don't grab the headphone by the gimbals, as them being made of magnesium will make the gimbals more prone to bend over time and cause you to either have to add gaskets under the gimbal attachment or bend it back to shape. Which isn't a huge deal, but could be annoying. Always safest to pick your headphones up by the headband!

Got my VC today, also the morpheus from Zach. Some scratches on one of the cups but no biggie since I don't intend to sell. Soundwise simply the best I've ever heard.

Great looking headphone.

Zach truly is a "wood connoisseur" :)

The leopardwood cups are wax coated, the marks are just handling marks from customs going over the headphone, we've had this a couple times in international shipments, just wipe the marks with your finger until they smooth over as the heat from your finger will warm the wax and smooth then over. Also - any wood polish with a small amount of wax (most of them have a little) will remedy any of the leopardwood headphones that get a wax mark on them from handling. Really this is a protective coat to help protect the hard but thin osmo finish, but it's easily repairable and refreshable.

I did this before I had the VC: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/zmf-verite.890270/page-141#post-14985973

When I had my loaner VC though, I preferred using the 2K Copper.
Wow! Thanks for the information. So you like the Verite Silver on your current pair but preferred the 2K Copper on your loaner pair. That suggests to me that they must both be highly excellent, that I'd probably love either one, and that it's almost like picking subtly different flavors of a fine food or beverage.

Really it's hard to go wrong with either cable and yes, the differences are subtle.

I'm still waiting on my personal VC. At the moment though my Verite silver is being used with my Verite Open.

FTR I am the second owner of this pair of headphones, so things can happen as such this was not meant as an indictment on Zach or his team. I greatly respect the pride they take to craft each bespoke unit, it is in fact one of the main reasons I made the decision to purchase.. With that said Zach has reached out and helped me with this situation, couldnt ask for more, cant speak more highly of that level of outreach/support.

How is the sound from the Morpheus into the Master 19? I have the midrange Metrum Amethyst that Zach used to sell and think it's excellent.

Yup. Better pairing than Utopia.

Onward we go to the ECP DSHA3V. Or maybe my CFA3, er, CFA3V is the ticket.

I have generally been pretty happy with the Auteur pads but I have been thinking about trying for a bit more in the top end for some variety. Has anyone compared the Auteur to Vérité pads?
