Later this year we will be doing a stabilized maple burl run, those will be not built to order, but placed on the site and ordered only when the headphones are complete and pictured so you'll know exactly what you're getting. They will be available at a higher price point due to the cost of stabilized wood. Not sure when we will get those out, likely mid to late summer.
I know next to nothing about stabilized wood. From what I've just now read, stabilized wood is that which has been dried and then had its pores saturated with resin, such as acrylic. What can you tell us about the sonic characteristics of stabilized wood compared to non-stabilized wood?

Stabilized wood does machine more cleanly and evenly given that the moisture content is near zero and it has properties that include both wood and stabilizers.

Sonically the wood doesn't have pores and resin like completely natural woods, so it sounds more like a hardwood than maple typically would without the treatment. I'd liken the sound closer to a leopardwood, meaning slight decay, and good robust weight to notes and the timbre. Where-as without the stabilized treatment there'd be more decay like a monkeypod/stock wood.

I don't have a great picture of it, but I hope this gives you an impression. I think this is a one-off limited version made for Canjam NY.

Edit: better pics. It's a lot less red in reality / daylight.

Do you have a rough idea of weight vs. Leopardwood or other hard wood versions?

I just read the entire review. Extremely well written and extremely favorable for both of the ZMF Verite headphones. Now I want to get a chance to listen to them even more.
CanJam SoCal in Dec.?
(fingers crossed some pandemic or something won't ruin this one for us!!!)

I like that stand. What is it?

They are Room's audioline FS stand, from Germany I believe. They come in different colors. This is the wood/veneer version, which costs around 90 euros in Europe. Actually somewhat less in the US it seems. I also have a pro version in black steel, which I like much better, for its looks and sturdiness, which comes to around 140 euros. See some links below.
