ZMF Spring Limiteds, CanJam NYC and Estimated Release Schedule for Caldera Closed and BOKEH Open!

This is a bit off topic from all of our ZMF fun, but since I have 4 ZMFs I felt like sharing in the excitement! (Aeolus, VO, AO, and Eikon(ic))

Today Ryan at Modhouse had his order window open for Tungsten at 11 EDT, and I was able to get one with the double-sided driver! :gs1000smile: Now I have to wait like everyone here for their headphones to come, but even longer in this case (12 weeks). Sadly, the orders are now sold out again. The window to order was less than an hour...

Someday I hope to get a Caldera...:beerchug:

No, I wish, I slept in today :innocent: If whoever bought the purple one wants to sell it to me, I'd be happy to take it off your hands. Not joking

I stayed up until 2AM listing to my Decware combo. A bit tired and out of it today. It sounds SO GOOD tho. :joy:

I did get Natural 2 to match a set of my Atrium closed.

Absolutely gorgeous! I had my eye on Natural 1, but already gone! Saved me the $ though...

Everytime I go to order a Tungsten I get cold feet. I really don’t want to get sucked into the amp game as I’m perfectly happy with what I have. I’ll just enjoy my Calderas.

I feel you on that, but I have 1 amp that should drive them fine (a Flux FA-10 "Limited").

It's not my primary amp though, which would definitely NOT drive them I think (DSHA-3FN).

How you like the DSHA with ZMFs? That's an amp that's high on my list of solid states to try.

Proud owner of the Green 1. I could not resist that jade green color.

I ended up getting this one, I liked the variety in the grain and I think will complement most of my ZMF headphones so I think this will just be the stand next to the listening station for whichever headphone is plugged in. I also really dug the vibrant green ones those looked so cool and I liked what I guess would be the aqua 1 I think that would be my favorite because it would fit my AC really well but didn't see it as an option but I really liked that one too. Overall really excited about this one I think it will fit all of my headphones well and I may pick up one of those ZMF copper cables in purple/red to complement it.

I love it with the dynamic driver ZMFs! It really sounds fantastic with them, and until this amp I'd never heard the Verite Open sound so good.

It has a huge soundstage, and is so utterly quiet it resolves micro detail unlike anything I've owned. It also slams hard, the Eikon kicks ass with it! Atrium is very sweet as well...

Yes, I can. Sorry for jumping into the thread without context.. but on this one point: the Decware/ZMF OTL + Decware Taboo is one of the most addictive amp sections I’ve ever heard. Specifically, it’s my personal go-to for the open Caldera headphones - the pristine and holographic presentation this combination it just amazing. And The amount of tuning one can do with the tubes across both components is extensive (I have an older Taboo model, but have experience the same when I tried this with the newer one).

With these two amps, I use the OTL as my go to for the AO and AC (by far the best amp for those to my taste), and the OTL+Taboo for the Caldera. I’ve yet to find anything I prefer to these headphones.

I’m now getting to know the CC. I can share it sounds great off this chain, but early days so happy to offer more on that later as well :)

Forgive my ignorance here, but I'm confused. Are you using the pre-out of one into the other??

Yes. Sorry I should have clarified.

I am using the Decware/ZMF Reference OTL as a preamp into the Decware Taboo, which drives the headphones.

The OTL has both headphone output and preamp outputs (they are all "hot", no switch to toggle). When I use the combination (usually for Caldera), I power both of them up and connect the headphones to the Taboo. When I use just the OTL on its own (usually with AO and AC), I just turn on the OTL and plug those headphones to it directly.

RCA interconencts between the two units.

When used combined, one can control volume from either of those, and finding which attentuation across both provides the best sonic outcome is part of the tuning fun (and also depends on tubes used, and heapdhone used).

I'm having a geek-gasm just thinking about this. ;)

Cool to see where the other green stand is going. I picked up Green 2. Now I just need a super green ZMF to pair with it :)

I have no willpower...
I wozzilated back and forth on the Salire color I wanted so I'm curious if I really got anything. My CC was charged, but when I did a refresh of the product page, all of the Calderas were snapped up!

My, my. This is flat-out beautiful!

I thought from day-1 that the Caldera's screen was a true design statement, as good as patterns found in art installations, fine furniture and architecture. I also appreciate the slight concavity, which minimizes the apparent depth of each earcup and enhances the contrast between the screen and whatever wood is used.
