^^^^^ That's Red Sandalwood.  That particular set is a nice dark color slightly stained.  I won't be offering them for sale until I get caught up on current orders.

Just received the Omni and I'm doing a small head to head versus the Blackwood before I send that one to the new owner. I have to say that they sound similar for roughly 90%. To me the Omni has a little more weight to the sound, has a tad more bass and sounds a little more open. For me personally that means an upgrade. They share the same DNA which is logical because they use the same drivers and have the same maker. Would be happy with either one of them. I wouldn't call one better than the other. Pretty much just what you prefer. I like a little more open sounding can with more bass and full speaker like sound, so I'm happy with the 'upgrade'!

By the way, I may like this bass better than the LCD-2.2 and that says a lot.

I will be receiving my Omni in a few weeks. I have been using the AUdeze LCD-2 for almost 2 years now and have just recently sold my 3rd pair yesterday. It just doesn't have that pre fazor magic anymore that drew me to the Audeze in the first place.

It's time to say goodbye to Fazor, and hello to the Omni. Everything I've read so far about the Omni is extremely favorable.

Fazor sucks donkey balls yo

Never heard the Fazor, just the LCD-2 rev 2 (pre fazor). I do want to hear the Fazor. The lack of air is what me say goodbye to the LCD-2.2. HE-500 is much better in that regard. But that might be my all time favorite.

@zach915m, any updates on the tour Omni?  Just curious how close I am to my turn?

Just got them back from Georgia to do a mid-tour check-up and then next week they are on their way to Kentucky.  Sorry the tour is taking so long, I thought it would be quicker.

Thanks for the update.  I'll gladly wait as long as it takes.  I'm just glad I'll be able to pair them with my Liquid Carbon...

Thinking of buying one of these babies. For those who have heard the fostex thx00, Sony mdr z7, jvc dx1000, or m audio q40, how would you describe the bass on those compared to the omni bass?

I have had the omni,q40,z7,dx700,th600 (dx1000 being modded now)

Omni has less bass than the dx700, better bass than q40 but similar qty, less slam than th600 but just as tight, z7 bass sucks wind socks.

Hey grizz regarding the q40, when you say similar to q40 do you mean slightly less/more, or the same? Are the similarities sub bass rumble, or is it the punchiness of the bass you are referring to? Sorry to bother you so much, but haven't found my upgrade to the Q40 in years. Would have gone dx1000, but lack of warranty is a deal breaker for me.

Im pretty vague when I say similar because I have owned the q40 a while ago but rumble is similar, prob slightly less dynamic, a lot tighter, faster, and more solid for sure. I actually liked the yamaha mt220 bass close to as much as the q40 and preferred the pandora hope bass over it too. Actually there are a few Hp's to beat it. Its a great hp for the price though for sure.

Looks like I'm joining the Omni club. I had a longstanding Blackwood order from the Black Friday Sale with the idea of getting a closed phone for work, but then realized I had no true need for a closed headphone with my CIEMs being perfect for work due to portability. Luckily there were some issues with my chosen limited edition wood that Zach had, so they were delayed a bit and gave me some time to read through most of this thread. Low and behold I decided I wanted another open/semi-open can, and ended up just deciding to upgrade to the Omni in Blackwood. Thanks to everyone for their impressions and excitement in this thread. Can't wait for the Omni to arrive!

Also, Zach is awesome as everyone knows. He was up late emailing back and forth with me around midnight last night about the upgrade and wood choices and giving his recommendations and explanations. Exemplary customer service as always. I haven't even gotten the Omni, but the "ownership experience" has been stellar so far!
