Have anyone tried the Beyer+ pads on the DT1990? I am really tempted but it's still a lot of money to blind buy.
It's my understanding that they fit, but can be hard to get in the baffle channel, so instead they fit over the outside of the cup easier that getting them in the thin pad channel.

I hope your pads are a runaway success, Zach. Because the next time the Sennheiser "pad tax" comes due, I think I'll buy some for my 58X and 6XX. Cheers!

Thanks!!!!
Appreciated Zach, that's good info. Though I was referring more to how they would sound. The 1990 sound can change drastically with pads
Oh - yeah - unfortunately haven't tried them on the 1990 yet. But they do all work well on the 770/880/990 series sonically to my ears/measurements.

Hey @zach915m I just got the beyer preforated lambskin for my tygr 300's. The tamed dt990 and noticed the thin fabric that covers the speaker of the headphone. My question is, since the tygr already has a fabric disc that covers the speaker and dampens the sound, will the thin fabric on the pads cause more sound change or do you think the fabric really isn't thick enough not to affect the sound?

Thanks

I’m seeing a lot of hd6xx and 650 reviews but not finding many hd600. Any links someone could help me out with? How are the pads with the 600s?

The backing mesh should acoustically transparent or very close to it. We use a charcoal foam when we want some attenuation, but these don't utilize that.

Awesome, I didn't want to have to cut the mesh off if it doesn't alter the sound. I like the way it sounds with the tygr. I wonder how it would look on a frequency graph. I'll be getting a pair of the same pads for my HD58X. Keep up the good work. Oh and also I don't usually see Koa wood used on many things dealing with audio. I'm from Hawaii so it's nice to see our Koa wood being used for things like this.

I've got to say Zach, that I'm very happy with the perf lambskin on my hd6xx. Slightly wider soundstage without losing what was good about the headphone. Very comfortable and they make them look great.

Now just trying to decide if want to try the Beyers in my DT177X GO. I find the smaller velour pads are better than the larger leather pads, they have to much bass for me...

I just tested the Lambskin Perforated on my JAR650, absolutely stunned by the sound from this modified JAR650 with the ZMF pads installed.

After installing the pads, there is an apparent bump in soundstage depth, stronger dynamics, increased clarity and separation is a lot better than the stock velour pads.
Best part is that unlike the stock velour pads, these amazing ZMF lambskin pads will not start to roll off the treble due to wear on the weak velour material.

My JAR650 now sound like everyday cans with a sound signature I'm very crazy for, its getting more use than my Verite as of late!

IKR! It's like I actually know what I'm talking about sometimes. :L3000:

Glad more people are getting to try these amazing pads.
