Since we're lucky enough to have @zach915m here tonight, I was wondering if I could beg for a recommendation from him.

For the Kingswood Caldera, how would I describe wanted a beautifully matched set of dark, fiery Kingswood? I don't want any Sapwood and would prefer something that just has a deep chicoyance(?) to the wood. Something dark, not light. What's the right way to describe something like that?

Well - the kingwood is pretty consistent in color, but I am sure there are some sets that are "slightly" darker than others. I think just saying "dark kingwood / no sapwood" will likely get you what you want.

I haven't tried a ZMF suede yet, but I know that HiFiMan type "suede" like pads that come with Edition XS/Arya will squeak loudly against my glasses frames, so I'm afraid to try a suede. Anyone with suedes that squeak with their glasses?
They don't for me, but then neither do the Arya v2 pads.

ok, I'm really curious, are you ordering a new desk to match the headphone? whatever you're cooking, it must be something... :beerchug:

Whoever can photoshop a pair of the Kingswoods on this has my hearty endorsement.

Just learned about this new headphone. How am I going to fund my wedding day when this new toy just came outta nowhere? Does anyone have impressions on how this sound with EDM genres like trance, house, etc? Seems like the vocals will be more pronounced? Already own a VC, but wanted to see how the planar will sound.

Give me a couple hours and I will put together an in-depth answer, but the short and quick answer is it's brilliant with trance and house, but then again I like almost every ZMF for those genres..

I was listening to quite a lot of electronic music yesterday with Cowhide pads installed. It slaps!

Bebopper-Ajja This song shows off the out of head experience that the Caldera can give. A trippy, liquid soundscape that envelopes your head in a 360 degree sphere. The bass response on this track is average.

Enchated Clearing- Alwoods layering and bass take center stage here. Again a very beautiful out of head experience, but more detail and layering in this track that the Caldera allows you to peel layer after layer away. Bass is strong, decent slam, excellent thick, tight sub bass. The female lauging ran through a phaser gate is killer.

Cable Enable- Atmos made with a thicker and heavier bass response, the Caldera doesnt fail in delivering the slam and the sub bass is rich and tight. The quick hard pan L/R is quite intense. An alltime trance classic that the Caldera renders faithfully.

Pony Sauce-Beat Bizarre Pretty much every Beat Bizarre track is a hallucinogenic experience within itself. Bass is hard hitting, extreme out of head experience, tons of layers. Just stunning. No substances required.

Heliotropin- Haldolium Heavy, dark and brooding track. Great 3D experience. Bass responsee is average on this track. Bad trips are made of this.

Slipstream- Medicine Drum probably my absolute fav trance track ever. When I used to DJ I worked this into every mix at some point. An older track with below average slam, the Caldera actually makes it hit harder than what I'm used to. Beautiful trips are made of this.

High Roller- Crystal Method- Sounds as it should, though I'd like to hear/feel just a tad more sub bass presence on this track. Maybe a pad roll will do the trick?

Sing it Back-Moloko (Feel Love Remix) Again I'd like to hear more sub bass on this track. Midbass hits hard. Man this brings back beautiful memories :)

For trance I think the Caldera is excellent. For house I'd like to bump the sub bass region up some. @zach915m or @heliosphann which pad emphasises the sub bass?
