Favorite solid state amp (or tube if there's a special pairing) for Caldera, go!

Decware/ZMF Reference OTL (as preamp) ->> Decware Taboo

and..

Riviera AIC10

Speaking of Aegis... @zach915m any updates on the ZMF Aegis collab? Dying to see pics 😁
It's coming along! Likely a spring time release at this point, but I'll have pictures of the first small tester run of amps within the next few weeks.

I feel excited for everyone already. It's a special amp!

Thanks for the replies everyone! Bliss is the only one I've tried out of these suggestions, so it's cool to hear what else people are really loving with their Caldera that I've yet to hear.

Ah, yes, the Decware combo! What MK is your Decware Taboo? Have heard the AIC10, but only with the Susvara. It sounded huge. Do you own the AIC10 now?

Mine is an older version SE84TS+ (which would be like mk2.5). It’s pluses are a single volume control (crazy this needs to be considered a “feature”) and it’s gain tubes are 12a u/t/x 7 - so ton of options (including matching to headphone sensitivity). I use a G73R tube and works great there.

Have heard the AIC10, but only with the Susvara. It sounded huge.

It’s ridiculously spacious and resolving. It’s the best amp I’ve heard (while I’ve tried many amps, I did hear them all). It’s spectacular with the Susvara, fantastic with the Tungsten, and incredible with the Caldera (just trying not to repeat my adjectives:wink:)

Do you own the AIC10 now?

Should I sell Caldera and get Susvara?

They're drastically different that they're complementary to me. Susvara has a more laid-back (unless you have an amp that makes the Susvara more up-front and lively) and more spacious with most agreeable sound signature while Caldera for that immediacy and arguably more interesting tonality

Do you think Questyle Cma Fifteen is a good pairing for Caldera?

Haven't heard the Caldera with that amp unfortunately. Caldera just needs a lot of current to sound great and I'm pretty sure CMA15 has plenty of that for Caldera

Favorite solid state amp (or tube if there's a special pairing) for Caldera, go!

For ss: Cen Grand Silver Fox
For tube: Feliks Envy with Elrog

P.s: Something like gustard r26 + cayin ha-3a already sound sublime too for more budget friendly
