Looking at the 5.2 drops, I’m not thinking of infidelity, but that my CC ought to have a brother or sister… haha

Zach finally hooked me after several years resisting the limited drops. I love the crazy burl on these.

Incredible looking pair! Congrats
Thank you. I hope I like the closed as much as the open. Haven't been able to hear them personally but I've always been pleased with Zach's tuning. And, I needed a good set of closed backs.

Edit: I included the tuning kit as well. That should give me plenty of options.

Cable pairing update: I received a Norne Vykari (hybrid silver/copper version) for my Caldera Closed yesterday.

I’d been using a Norne JS-16 (good cable, but it held the CC back), then a Norne Einvaldi (very high-quality, but lower-gauge hybrid cable that I adore with my Atrium Closed).

The performance of the Einvaldi was excellent with the CC, hinting that something special was in store. But the Vykari’s performance has still caught me off guard.

The natural, flowing nature of the music coupled with insane speed and dynamics when required is an absolutely intoxicating experience. The combination of a very high-quality solid-state amp, a resolving R2R DAC, the Vykari, and the Caldera Closed is just beautiful.

In my case, “high-quality solid-state” is the dual-mono Ray Samuels Audio Emmeline The Apache, upgraded to Ray’s most recent fave op-amps a couple of years ago. It has a completely silent soundstage, effortless dynamics and a slightly warm tone that meshes superbly with the CC.

The Vykari has, almost literally, “cleaned the window” between the listener and the performance. Trevor Goldman, the gentleman behind Norne, noted in email that he is extra proud of the transparency and detail levels the Vykari offers. He should be. It’s an astonishing cable.

Of course, the build quality is impeccable- if you know Norne, that’s a given. But Trevor’s artistry is, as always, exceptional.

Photos will follow- I’m just too darn busy LISTENING. 😁

Curious how the Vykari would compare to the Grand Silver Palladium. From the cables I have/had, that one’s been a perfect match with the CC on my chain.

In my case, it's the Holo Cyan 2 and the Violectric V222. All my ZMFs sound amazing with this combo.

Looks great! Who makes that stand? I I've seen it a couple times on this board.
It's a Grumpy Goose. I'm perpetually jealous of them! Maybe one day.
