It's a Grumpy Goose. I'm perpetually jealous of them! Maybe one day.

They were already very difficult to get a couple of years ago, when I managed to get mine. Can’t imagine it’s gotten any better over the years, as they’ve become even more popular.

That’s a nice Redheart, congrats!

Thanks, it’s amazing! But still I find myself drooling over the latest rarities and stabilized sets whenever new stuff comes out. The team at ZMF really outdo themselves every single time.

Got a new amp this week, the Cayin HA-3A and I’m just blown away. Even with the stock tubes the Caldera has gained some meat around its bones, and the guitars and drums have that character again I was missing after Atrium Closed. Truly the best of both worlds. Need to start investigating tube rolling at some point.

I had the privilege of seeing Redheart units at CanJam SoCal when I bought my Bocote unit, and aesthetically the Redhearts are every bit as pretty, if not more so. I already had a reddish ZMF in my (Red Mallee Burl) AC though… and the harder Bocote has some extra “hardwood magic” to my ears, as well.

But indeed, the ZMF team keeps raising the bar!

Congrats on the new amp! That’s the gap in my setup that I might someday want to close, if I have the space and budget. Running the CC on my solid-state amp is incredible, but the pull of tubes is always there… 😂

I got the CC Shedua at launch, and I love the way it looks and of course sounds.

If I was to buy a CC today, I can only think of 2 woods I would want. It all comes down to the pattern of the cup. For me I want a wood that really makes the shape of the cup pop.

At first, I was hoping for a Queensland Maple at launch, but after seeing some Queensland Maple over the last few months, I think the shape of the cup does not pop, and is hidden by the wood pattern.

I can only think of two woods, the Shedua and Redheart that make the shape of the cup really pop. The only stabilized one I really liked was the Plum.

I'm sure it's been asked before and pls forgive me for not searching on this, but is there a specific reason for the bulging shape on the CC? Most ZMF headphones have a smooth cup surface so just curious. The CC was a delight at Axpona, I really enjoyed it. I don't need a closed headphone but it stood out quite a bit to me. :)

Interesting. I was almost sure there was a functional reason behind it. It looks odd to me lol but I can respect the design choice. :)
I was not sure about the design at first. Then after some hands-on sessions at CanJams I noticed the cup shape felt nice in the palm as you wrap hands around when donning them on and taking off. It seems it helps with the grip in my impression. I prefer the Caldera Open over the closed due to pressure sensitivity in my ears but I did enjoy the time trying the CC's.
