My headphones arrived an hour ago, but they’re not totally matching the configuration I ordered them in, so I’ll see what the dealer says. The Redhearts are stunning, though, so I’m happy to keep these as well unless there’s some mixup with another order.
I’ll take some better photos when we get some natural light in the north.
I've now had my Caldera Closed for about a month, and while I can't be sure that it's not all in my head, they seem to have recently shifted from being really good to being amazing.
The "burn in" effect with ZMF headphones really does baffle me, and for a long time (before I started getting ZMFs) I hand waved away the very notion. Yet here I am. My gear hasn't changed. I'm using the same hybrid pads. My brain has gotten a little older, but as far I'm aware it's still the same mess of electrified oatmeal wobbling around up there. I suppose it will just have to remain as one of life's great mysteries!

But…..but……you can’t see them when you are wearing them!…..why would would want to spend all that extra money?….a Caldera is a caldera …..they all sound probably 95% the same depending on woods…….Im not getting on that merry go round……
That being said I do enjoy my CC B&W Ebony ……so I’m immune.
My plain Jane CO in oak is my favorite……bless her heart! So insecure

That's a very common thing for first time ZMF owners. They seem to be skeptical of burn in, but as they hear it for themselves they become believers. I know I've learned not to judge any new ZMF until at least 100ish hours. My CC also went from very good to amazing after time. It's like all the minor sonic issues I had with it early on just melted away, leaving an intensely dynamic yet smooth planar sound.
I love the yellow BBB strap on my Auteur so much, I got one for my CC I'm also going to ask Zach if i can buy some aged copper rods. The black ones are bland IMO. I wish they could do other metals for the C arms that the cups attach to. I keep visualizing my set with both aged copper rods and C arms. I think that would look insane. Worth the weight gain, to me.
