Can more people share their impressions of the СС sound on Enleum HPA-23RM from current output?
I read mixed reviews - some say it sounds wrong, some are happy...
I find that current output with stock tuning on CC is rolled off and sounds dark. I tried EQ starting at 10Khz with 3db gain at 27Khz, while some improvement still does not match the voltage outputs SQ which sound very good, although I only have Nitsch Pietus Maximus, Activo P1 and RU7 to compare to.

It might be possible tune by changing pads and mesh but I like to be able to use my CC with multiple amps.

I would not get 23RM just for CC as for the money one probably can bet better conventional amp, in my case 23RM is waiting for Tungstens and CC is waiting for Aegis.

Day one of CanJam Dallas, and I learned no-one does mids like ZMF. Vocals sound much more real and present with the CC's. Also, Zach's headphones and especially the CC reproduce percussive instruments more lifelike and impactful than any other headphone I heard, of which builds a solid foundation for the music that takes things to another level of realism. @zach915m and @AnyDave are Wizards.

Great seeing you Wes. If you want to try the CC with another wood type, I’ll be carrying my black & white Ebony in my backpack today.

Those in Europe might want to look at what this shop has on offer: https://headphone.shop/de/produkt/zmf-caldera-closed/, especially these:
BIG THANKS!
I just bought the #3. (Even when it says you can still buy it, lol).
So i don't have to deal with the stress, waiting time and import duties / taxes. And i've also read that Paypal becomes available only after 10 minutes, is that true?
Well, regardless, i'm super happy now, if this one is really in stock it should arrive very quickly.

Copied from the Enleum thread:

Having spent more time with the Caldera Closed, I can say that the Enleum HPA-23RM in voltage mode is pretty much end-game for me! Even in battery mode it delivers a BIG sound and the tonality is as close to perfect for my taste, with both the Rockna Wavedream or the Vinnie Rossi LIO DAC 2.0.

I compared it to my Vinnie Rossi VR120 power amp briefly (which is excellent with harder to drive headphones) and felt I was getting much of the same spacious and impactful sound with the HPA-23RM in battery mode. By contrast, the VR120 delivers a bigger and slammier sound with the DCA E3 compared to the Enleum in either voltage or (preferred) current output in desktop mode.

So yeah, current mode doesn't quite work well with the CC (due to its electrical dampening) but the voltage output more than saves the day!

On a side note: the CC is a phenomenal headphone! It's the best tuned headphone to my taste, which is funny because I always found closed-back headphones to have some form of wonkiness that detracted me from full immersion (the Atrium Closed was the closest to even, from the mids up, but I didn't care much for its elevated bass. Focal Stellia and Vertite Closed were good, but clearly not even and thus didn't work with everything). The tuning and evenness of the CC is reminiscent of the JAR600 or JAR660S, which is high praise in my book!

Edit: forgot to mention the technical level. This is definitely near-Susvara level (when "A-rated driven") which is all the more impressive considering it is a closed back headphone and as such benefits from the sound isolation to bring out detail effortlessly and doesn't require a dead silent environment to pick out every subtle inflection and nuance.

I don't like to shill, but the Caldera Closed is certainly my favorite closed back headphone of all time and quite possibly my favorite headphone period. I always wanted a planar headphone with Atrium Open(ish) tonality and and Susvara(ish) technicalities. The Caldera Open was very good, but it didn't quite hit the mark on the tonality front (mostly the treble) - although the pair I heard was slightly before release (I think?) and I believe this was improved later. The Caldera Closed is it! The fact it is a closed back is icing on the cake: I can listen to it in bed next to my wife, too!

Are those really in stock, because otherwise you might be up for lengthy wait?
My 16+ week wait for the Redheart Caldera Closed is coming to an end today, as the headphones are finally on their way to be delivered. Ordered from the Headphone.shop, too.
