What's up with the defense mode guys, or did you just have time to kill?
Nothing wrong with people politely informing themselves about the status of their order.
FYI I'm waiting for 3 Kickstarters and a Crowd Supply of which the oldest one is approaching 18 months now with no deadline in sight.
Add to that a Massdrop, 2 pre-orders, an amp that got delayed several times and a cable retemination that has taken over three months now.
And that's just what's still open, I got quite a few of these kinds of orders already delivered.
So I know all about patience and is far as I can see my Auteur is ahead of schedule just like my Eikon was.

Enthusiasm is high and well warranted for these headphones. Most of us are waiting patiently for our Auteurs and, as I am, are pretty antsy to get our hands on them. These comments weren't direct at you and more towards the theme of the last two pages which have been sentiments along the lines of, "It's not here yet. Please hurry" which isn't really informative. As Mystic said above, it doesn't really add to the discussion.

You had a perfectly reasonable question. Asking Zach to update the Excel after a week of no activity is reasonable. Posting pictures and reviews with different combinations of amps even better. Some of the other noise doesn't really need to be here.

I've not heard the Auteur yet, but from everything I've read I think it would. The Ares has a slightly warmer sound with the classic smooth, natural R2R feel. I tested it against a few other similar DAC's in that price point and it's a bargain IMO.

For Teak you're looking at 4-8 weeks and for Blackwood 6-10. Sorry for not being more specific I just hate to say anything "exact" and then miss that date.

I think the Auteur looks beautiful and the reviews so far have been extremely positive. It would be well worth the wait should I decide to purchase - and I am close to doing just that.

I honestly don't think I would want a headphone made from wood that comes out of the IL and MO rivers. I speak from experience with these rivers. *shudder*

We're waiting on one piece of the chassis (the upright that holds the rod) to be done CNC'ing and then we have about 20-40 sets that will go out very quickly (mostly blackwood) as they are all assembled except for that part. So many more people will be getting their headphones in the next 7-14 days.
