Interesting @goldwerger! I felt like the AO was a bit more laid back than the VO in that area. I haven't done extensive side by side though. I have a VC and a Caldera. The Caldera is a lot friendly to my upper mid sensitive ears. At CanJam SoCal I fell in love with both the Atrium and Caldera, but ended up going with Caldera. I've been wanting to swap out my VC for AC in theory. Maybe the increase in the bass sort of levels that out and you listen at lower volumes? Can't wait for your thoughts.I hope to have my review later tonight (no promises but working on it). But quick note is that the AC's upper mid and presence are more forward than the VC to my ears. However, there is no sibilance at all and the headphones are non-fatiguing. The Suede pads, to my taste, provide an overall smooth presentation. More to come.

Man so bummed I can't be in NYC to try them. @zach915m would you say that for people that have upper mid / presence sensitivity these may be a little more relaxed than the VC in that region? I'm terrible at looking at graphs and imagining the sound signature. I really like the Atrium Open.

I think if you find the Atrium pleasing in any specific area, chances are that you'll be fine with the Atrium Closed, even though there are slight differences, specifically with a closed back the harder woods will smooth out the mids/treble even more.
The first LTD edition for Atrium Closed will be a very special couple slabs of figured Olive that I've been hoarding for a few years and been waiting for a closed back to use it on.

Haha I hear you and get it! I had a lot of time on my hands during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021 when we didn't release any new models. Now I don't know what to do with all my work!Bro can you plz slow down, LOL? I still havent paid off my Caldera + HA6A purchase yet and youre already teasing another one? You know, maybe it is just me, but there are not enough TOTL offerings out there that really go after that true V-Shaped "fun" sound reproduction.Haha I hear you and get it! I had a lot of time on my hands during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021 when we didn't release any new models. Now I don't know what to do with all my work!
I like everyone else, really enjoy the technical and accurate sound reproduction modern offerings out there provide, however, they are a dime a dozen if we're being honest. I would really love to see a headphone company like ZMF just zero in on a 100% "fun sounding" headphone - forget "accuracy" and "true to the sound" descriptions, and embrace "fun, extremely fun sounding headphone"! Something like this, I would be over the moon about! Then paired with an OTL tube amp, heaven!
I don't know about you, but I have more than enough headphones that are "technically accurate", with a slight twist in tuning, but I do not have enough truly fun sounding headphones!
ZMF seems like the ideal company to put out such an offering in the future!
Cool, cool. I'll take an Atrium Closed, a Caldera closed and whatever else you got saved up.Haha I hear you and get it! I had a lot of time on my hands during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021 when we didn't release any new models. Now I don't know what to do with all my work!
I mean I wouldn't say Caldera is V shaped, but it sort of is the most "fun" TOTL out there. Def the most character out of the pack. You know, maybe it is just me, but there are not enough TOTL offerings out there that really go after that true V-Shaped "fun" sound reproduction.

What tax savings? ZMF charges tax for out of state orders, and will certainly charge tax for NYC purchases, no?Yeah. The fact that all units are LTD’s and it’s a big tax savings buying at CanJam I don’t blame you.
Will there be an Eikon Classic? I may be trading my Atrium so there is an opening for another ZMF ... either to update my Auteur with the new driver, or buy and Eikon classic.OKOKOK so I took some measurements from the final Canjam sets. Here's some graphs and quick thoughts to help. All taken on BK 5128 with DF weighting unless stated.
And yes these are the same driver as in Atrium open. It's 300 ohms, adjusts to your chain and so on.
I don't think Atrium closed in this year's budget.
But do you realize that now i gotta take more pics of my zmf collection. I thought all 5 in a single shot would be enough. Now i need to invest in a wide angle lens to fit it all in. In addition to the Atrium closed i might as well get another Salir + all the different pads + another set of zmf cables + whatever else the zmf store has on sale. Its never just your headphones and i couldnt be happier about going broke LOL.Haha I hear you and get it! We may hit the Nexus for New York state at some point but have not yet. If we do it would go into effect in 2024.
I would never say never on anything, but right now my two focuses are the Caldera closed and the unnamed "Portable/lower impedance" (really just different) Open and Closed ZMFs. The Eikon's real predecessor for right now is the Atrium closed. I would think anyone who likes the auteur/Eikon/Atrium sound will be into the Atrium Closed. It's just a more evolved version with all of the tricks I've learned since 2016 when the Eikon came out. Will there be an Eikon Classic? I may be trading my Atrium so there is an opening for another ZMF ... either to update my Auteur with the new driver, or buy and Eikon classic.

Eikon is still a wonderful headphone that I adore - and nothing we make will ever be the exact same thing.
