Does anyone else here feel they really need to get a tight clamp pressure to get fullness of sound? And bass? Anything less and I hear the sound change to the worse. And when pressing on both cups with less clamp pressure the sound deepens and improves. And I have definitely got the seams on the pads symmetrical and optimized in their position. Spent a lot of time doing that. Am sure they’re right.

Oh, I’m using Caldera thins (lamb). Have tried suede, don’t care for.

I didn't need to manhandle the steel band, but I have been told by many that my noggin is abnormally large so I may be an outlier.

I have less clamp pressure on TH900 and HEKse. I tried adding pressure to cups manually for both and no benefit, unlike AC. Yes, had to twice manhandle steel band to much increase clamp pressure. And the stitch line for my thin lamb skins sits right at my jaw angle. If front is right, \ is about the angle. And it definitely after several checks gives best seal. At all pressures. For the life of me I don’t understand why I had to jack up the clamp pressure to optimize SQ. Only HP I own that is like that.

The solidity of each note’s fundamental for 150 hz to 500 hz is phenomenal for average rock recording. It gives unbelievable depth to the lower mids upper bass which, frankly, my HEKse is missing. Going from AC to HEKse with said rock genre there is all of a sudden a hole in my FR in this region. AC when properly fitted sound more like loudspeakers than HPs. 😊🎶

These headphones sound superb. Finicky to fit and seal properly to get the full FR though. Zach. Question. I’ve got a perfect tight clamp right now. But if that force lessens, will periodic bending to re obtain the desired clamp pressure eventually lead to a flimsy metal fatigued steel bar? Basically how many bendings til bar ineffectively stiff? Sorry to bludgeon this point. But it’s my only issue with this otherwise amazing HP😊

And at about 20 hours the burn in is tightening bass and smoothing treble.

We switched a while back to much stiffer steel, I don't think anyone will wear out the stiffer thicker steel. Excited to get it to you. I'll make sure our team looks out for your email.
