ZMF Atrium Closed

Cant really say what I prefer, constantly cycling between headphones in my ZMF collection discovering the love for each variant over and over again. Today I am back to my VO and damn its such a different kind of presentation after weeks with AC and Caldera. Its holography (is it a thing?), vast stage and euphonic but intimate female vocals are something else.

I prefer the VC over the AC because the VC has for me, the better stage, is the better „allrounder“ for any music genre and has this special 3d effect that no other closed headphone has and for me the VC has more details in the bass, mids and treble.
That‘s my taste 😉
I agree, I think the VC has better soundstage than AC. The AC has more romantic bass, but the VC has more realistic bass.

WOW. Just WOW. Gorgeous.

How is it that I spend all my headphone budget too early and have to wait to January?!

(Bashes head against wall repeatedly)

Oh, that's an easy one... we're talking about ZMF here. :)
It's not just their products, it's also the people that work there. It's just an amazing company in general and I'm always happy to give my money to those type of companies.

Yes, I know, but temptation gets me EVERY TIME early in the year… 😅😉

@zach915m Quick question regarding the AC Olivewood (loving it!). In a (much) earlier post you said that it's finished with a natural hard wax oil.

If I want to give it a little loving care, would a tiny bit of Dunlop Guitar Polish Formula No. 65 be good? We don't have access to the Mohawk stuff here. I actually bought it twice state-side only to (re)discover I can't take it on the plane.

Thanks!

Anything with the hard wax oil you'd want to use "osmo wax cleaner" on or you can use micro crystalline wax from Renaissance but with thay you'd need a hand tool to get it shiny. The osmo wax cleaner is the best product.

Can we also use Osmo on the lacquer-finished sets like Blackwood.

How often would you use osmo, like once every couple of months? I want to be mindful and not overdo it.

I would advise against using anything on the headphones except the lint free cloth provided with the headphones unless there's something getting on the finish.

Lacquer or varnish finished headphones you'd want to use the Mohawk / Dunlop / nomad etc

Thanks! 3029? I actually have this for treating my quality hardwood floor once a year.

Yeah, but does Osmo have that special invasive petroleum smell that Renaissance has?
