for those who have tried the LCD MX4, is the Aeolus more laidback or as laidback or not as laidback as the MX4? i personally found the MX4 to be overly laidback and much preferred the Aeon Flow in that regard. 650's also felt a tad too laid back for my tastes..

Having listened to both extensively yesterday at the Bluegrass Meet, from what you’ve stated above I believe the Verite is probably more in line with your taste. They both are wonderful, highly musical headphones, but the Verite is the more dynamic, insightful, fast, choice with excellent technicalities.

This is not a cheap hobby by any means...
My wallet already got several giant holes in it!! (Verite being responsible for 1)
But... it is worth it. Zach is an artist, and art does not come cheap.

I had the impression it was a 650 on steroids but I really don’t want something as laidback as 650 nor even more laidback..=S

Is there something else apart from Verite in ZMF’s lineup

They sound dark, laid back. Easy to power. Guessing break in is needed. Like that they aren’t harsh. But my he1000v2 are better.

And how does it compare to your LCD2C and LCDX?

Somewhat the same as lcd 2c the x is more bright.

Give them a few days, mine sounded very dark/warm the first time I listened to them.

I thought with plastic driver it would have been brighter out of the box. Don’t get me wrong I still love them plus being made by hand adds to final results.
